Wasti, the little dachshund, is a practical pencil case that is sure to make a little first-grader very happy. You can crochet him in realistic brown tones or in bright, colorful colors. How about a pink girls' version? The dog is crocheted with single crochet stitches. You'll need cotton yarn in the colors you want and some fluffy yarn for the ears and tail, plus some stuffing, googly eyes, and a zipper (12 cm or longer).

How about a fun family of gnomes with hidden gifts inside for the start of school? Every child is sure to love them.

Of course, the gnomes can do much more than just delight children—they also have a bunch of great and useful features:

  • You can use them to wrap gifts (e.g., money, jewelry, candy, and much more).
  • They’re a huge hit as egg cozies.
  • They make a cute little gift for young and old alike.
  • They keep your knitting and crochet supplies safe, such as buttons.
  • They can also store jewelry inside their bodies.
  • They also make great Advent calendars.
  • They’re a huge hit at kids’ birthday parties and are sure to bring lots of joy.
  • And of course, they’re also great toys for kids.

In any case, these little gnomes spread joy and good cheer everywhere! :-)

I’d describe the difficulty level as easy. It just takes a little patience and dexterity to shape the faces.

Beginners with basic skills can easily and quickly make these gnomes.

The individual steps are described in detail in the pattern. The PDF file is 21 pages long and includes 53 individual photos.
