Finding Peace Through Crafts?

crafting often requires concentration and precision.
Does it help you forget the stresses of everyday life and find peace?

I think crafting is just like any other type of handicraft: if you enjoy it, you can immerse yourself in the work and forget the world around you; if not, it becomes a very annoying chore.
For me, the most important thing about crafting isn’t so much relaxation as it is the act of creating. And I think that everyone can find exactly what they need in any type of craft—those who need peace find peace, those who seek a challenge find a challenge; that’s the beauty of it: crafts are very versatile and can be tailored to the individual. No form of consumer entertainment will ever be able to compete with that.

For me, when I’m crafting with salt dough, I lose track of the world around me—and even of time. It’s just fun.
That’s the most important thing about it, no matter what kind of craft or project you’re doing—that you simply enjoy it.
When you’re having fun, you find relaxation, but I’m also happy when something turns out that makes me think,
“It was worth giving that a try.”
