Dear users, dear authors,
Hats / beanies are absolutely essential. In summer, you need an airy hat. In fall, it should be a bit warmer, and in winter, cozy, comfy, and thick.
Now crochet / knit / knook / sew hats.

More children’s hats.
More women’s hats.
More men’s hats.
More matching cowls and scarves, as well as shawls.

@Authors,
please present hat patterns here. 2–3 per author is enough. Don’t forget an image and link, as well as material info, technique info, difficulty level info, and details about what makes the pattern special.

A hat with a beautiful lace pattern, well suited for the first cool autumn days.

You can find it here.

The hat is knitted from sock yarn, so it is more of a lightweight. It has a diamond-shaped lace pattern that gets smaller and smaller toward the top until it eventually disappears completely.
The pattern is available in two sizes; it is provided both fully written out and with a knitting chart.

This hat is very elegant and feminine, with buttons as a special decorative touch.

You can find the pattern here.

This is truly a proper winter hat, knitted from wool with a yardage of 85 m per 50 g. What’s special about the pattern is that most of the hat is knitted in rows and only later joined in the round. This pattern is also available in 4 sizes.

Ideal for the transitional seasons, and yet the light lace pattern still brings a touch of summer with it.

A detailed step-by-step explanation as well as 2 charts in knitting chart format guide you through the simple lace pattern.

Also perfectly suitable for beginners.

And here is the pattern with more details...

Women and men can never have enough hats!
The dreary season comes faster than you think, so why not fight back with colors and patterns?

The hat with the fold-up brim is actually kept simple; the Norwegian pattern adds a nice touch to the whole thing.

Whether you work it using the Fair Isle technique or duplicate stitch is a matter of taste.
I always recommend—when knitting in the round—using the duplicate stitch method.
The duplicate stitch is explained in detail and illustrated in the pattern.

And this way to the pattern and more details...

A must-have for winter:

Crochet Hat for Everyone - very easy

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

A wonderfully easy-to-crochet hat for different styles, so ONE hat model wearable in all the variations shown, for both men and women. Also easy to make for children or as a simple hat for babies (though thinner yarn is recommended).

And the best part:

  • no gauge (it doesn’t depend on the centimeter),
  • no increases or decreases,
  • for any yarn you like
  • possible in all sizes.

The PDF pattern is illustrated.

You need these crochet skills: chain stitches, single crochet.
Everything else and slip stitches are explained. Video link tips for learning to crochet for beginners are included in the PDF.

By the way: A crochet pattern for an infinity scarf matching this hat is also available here in my shop:
https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/items/20003/haekel-moebius-loop-schal-fuer-alle-einfach

Material
: for the model shown with a head circumference of 55 cm to 60 cm: approx. 250 g merino yarn, 50 g – 45 m, 6.0 mm crochet hook; measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends. The ribbed pattern requires approx. 50 g more yarn than is normally usual for hats. The crochet hook size should match the yarn being used.

Crochet Cap/Hat (m/f) with Small Braids

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

This pretty crochet cap/beanie – designed for head circumference sizes from 52 cm to approx. 60 cm – for men as well as women and children, gets great texture from the mini braids, so it can be worn in many variations, including as a hat.

The PDF pattern includes

  • Information on various alternative yarns
  • Short pattern (for printing)
  • Plenty of illustrated, detailed crochet instructions
  • Link tips, including for learning to crochet
Crochet skills - these stitches are used: chain stitches, slip stitches (is
explained), half double crochet, double crochet, front and
back post double crochet (illustrated).

Difficulty level: medium

Required materials:
recommended 150 g (for me, exactly 100 g was enough – only a remaining thread of 30 cm was left)Adriafil Tabata, 100% wool, 50 g – 75 m, according to the label for hook/needle size 7.0, gauge according to the label 13 sts x 18 rows = 10 x 10 cm; alternative yarns: “Chunky” weight with similar yardage and label information (e.g. Rico Essentials Alpaca chunky);
Different from the label information, hook sizes 6.5 and 9.0 were used here; gauge here with crochet hook 9.0: 10 double crochet = approx. 10 cm. You will also need a measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle for sewing in ends, stitch marker (can also be a contrasting thread).

Crochet Beanie 'Tabata' & Möbius Scarf Collar/Cowl (m/f)

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

Hello, dear crochet fans,

this crochet set (m/f) in fashionable gray consists of a beanie and a Möbius scarf collar/cowl.

The PDF pattern is written for a head circumference of 52 cm – 60 cm and includes both – hat and cowl (cowl in one size).

It is illustrated, but requires general crochet skills (chain stitches, single crochet, double crochet, crocheting in rounds, slip stitches, increases and decreases). The special stitches are illustrated and described. I would describe the difficulty level as “intermediate.”

For the hat, 150 g is required, and for the cowl, 100 g of a yarn with a yardage of 75 m per 50 g. Unlike the hook size on the yarn label, this is crocheted with hook sizes 8.0 and 10.0.

Quick to knit and absolutely beginner-friendly: that's the SWOOOSH beanie hat. You only need 2 skeins of yarn in contrasting colors, or you can combine a single skein of gradient yarn with a matching color, or tip out your leftover stash. There are no limits to your imagination, and the pattern is written so that it can also be used for yarn weights other than the one I used. By the way, the hat always fits, because it is knitted sideways.

The striped-look beanie is one of the most popular hat patterns. It can easily be adjusted to any head circumference, crocheted with summer or winter yarn, with thick or thin yarn. That way, you can crochet lots of hats with just one pattern.
