Dear users, dear authors,
New things have their charm, but so do old things in the form of vintage or retro style. How about a balanced mix?
Here in this thread, authors present vintage / retro patterns. Look forward to them.

@Authors,
2-3 patterns per author are enough. Don’t forget the link and image, material info, technique info, difficulty level info, and details about what makes the pattern special.

The 1980s were really something special fashion-wise...
... but what has stayed and is still (or once again) on trend are puff sleeves!
Beautifully romantic sweaters like this can be worn in any season!

The yarn used—a blend of silk, mohair, camel, and merino—enhances the lightness of this sweater! Silkhair or something similar also works perfectly!
The boat neckline adds to the effect.

This project is absolutely suitable for beginners, as the pattern is kept very simple.

All stitch patterns used are described in detail—stitch by stitch, and a knitting chart also helps with the knitting process.

This pattern is designed for sizes S-M and L-XL.
However, the included schematic and the gauge make it possible to make any size!

And here’s the pattern and more details...

Crochet Pattern Belt

With its traditional ethnic-style pattern, this belt is made with a mix of materials and patterns. The leather-look ribbon yarn gives it a used look, so you can jazz up your neutral clothing.

Details & Pattern

The belt is Tunisian crocheted; it’s not difficult at all and is described in detail in the pattern.

With this great crop top/bustier , you’ll be right on trend . Whether with or without fringe, you decide how you want it to look in the end.

In just two simple steps, the strappy top transforms into a halter top and vice versa. The bust circumference of the top is individually adjusted to
the wearer, so larger sizes are naturally possible as well.

There’s also a button placket at the back for the perfect fit—you can even wear it at the front if you’d like.

Materials needed:
  • For cup sizes B–C and women’s size 36/38, I used approximately 500 m of 4-ply yarn (including fringes). Of course, any other yarn can be used as well.
  • Crochet hook appropriate for the yarn (size 3 was used here)
  • 4–6 buttons, 15 mm–18 mm
  • Beads (optional)

The good old steam locomotive! Now that’s retro!
Crochet it for yourself as a decoration or as a toy for a little train driver. The individual parts are very easy to crochet and just need to be sewn together. For yarn, I recommend Catania by Schachenmayr. For the filling, you’ll need craft batting, fabric felt, and a foam block (cleaning sponge). Click here for the pattern!

If only I could still fit into it. All that stuff has shrunk over the years.
But if anyone is interested in crocheting a really lovely old-fashioned shawl—I've got one on offer here.

Take a look.
