The Tunisian crochet pattern for the (shopping) bag is included in this set:

Tunisian crochet - very easy with a pillow, bag, case, and hiking seat cushion

(To purchase/download, please click the image(s))

Tunisian crochet is easy. Just try it out with these patterns (see image gallery).

Basic crochet skills are enough.

The various simple Tunisian stitch patterns are described in detail and illustrated.

4-in-1 PDF pattern:

  • a pillow 33 cm x 33 cm, “filled” with 2 towels or stuffing, etc., or 40 cm x 40 cm or a custom size
  • can easily be repurposed as a bag/tote.
  • also for hiking, a seat pad and
  • an eyeglass case for sunglasses
Depending on the color combination, the textured pattern always looks a little different - see image gallery.

The measurements can easily be adjusted to any desired size.

We need:
100 g in the main color (here turquoise) and 50 g in the contrast color (here beige) of a 50 g/100 m yarn, for hook size according to the label 3.5 – 4.0, matching Tunisian crochet hook or a Knooking needle, measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends, pins;
Gauge according to the label of the yarn used here: 18.5 sts x 27 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
The amount of yarn is also enough for a 40 cm x 40 cm pillow. For larger pillows, please calculate correspondingly more yarn.

Included in the download:
  • PDF pattern for pillow/bag, seat pad, and eyeglass case, illustrated on 23 pages
  • PDF pattern: blog “Recalculating gauge – here’s how”

You can find a knitted shopping bag with an onion pattern on my page.

Here is the pattern.

The pattern is very versatile—you can knit the bag using thick or thin cotton, in a single color or multiple colors, and it’s also easy to adjust the size. Everything is explained in the pattern.
It includes both a knitting chart and round-by-round instructions.

With a bag in cheerful, bright colors, going shopping is twice as fun.

You can find the pattern here.

The bag is knitted in the round using a slip-stitch pattern in two colors. Basically, it’s something like stripes, nothing to be afraid of. In thick cotton, the bag also knits up very quickly.

Practical shopping net with the life motto "Live Love Laugh".
This cute shopping net reminds you to take a short break now and then and enjoy life. Thanks to the filet pattern, the bag is crocheted in no time and also makes a great gift.

For the material, I used Catania by Schachenmayr; of course, you can also use any other cotton yarn—also great for using up leftovers. Crochet hooks 2.5 mm and 3.0 mm.
The bag is 35 cm wide and 45 cm tall (including handles).

Go to the pattern here

The pattern is described in detail with a counting chart, crochet chart, and lots of pictures.

Required prior knowledge: chain stitch, slip stitch, double crochet

This special stitch allows you to crochet in rounds without any offset, creating the perfect base for embroidery motifs.

In the photos, you can see the embroidered front and the unembroidered back. Of course, you can embroider both sides or leave the bag “plain” — whatever you prefer.

You can’t start thinking about "cotton instead of plastic" early enough!
That’s why there’s also the Mini Shopper for little ones ♥

It’s crocheted pretty quickly, soon delights little girls’ hearts, and it can hold quite a bit, too. The little shopping bag measures about 20 cm wide, 13 cm high, and 8 cm deep.

This is the crochet pattern for a shopping bag with the special feature that you can fold it up and close it with a button and flap:
Take it out of your handbag, unfold it, put your shopping in... take your shopping out, fold it up, close it, and pop it back into your handbag.
You only need to know chain stitches, single crochet, double crochet, and slip stitches.
Sew on one button and the handles.
You can do that, right?
Then let’s get started!
Best, Caro
