Crochet Hat for Everyone - very easy

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

A wonderfully easy-to-crochet hat for various styles, meaning ONE hat model wearable in all the pictured variations, for both men and women. Also easy to make for children or as a simple hat for babies (though a thinner yarn is recommended).

And the best part:

  • no gauge swatch (it doesn't depend on the exact cm),
  • no increases or decreases,
  • for all your favorite yarns
  • possible in all sizes.

The PDF pattern is illustrated.

You need these crochet skills: chain stitches, single crochet.
Everything else and slip stitches are explained. Video link tips for learning to crochet for beginners are included in the PDF.

By the way: A crochet pattern for an infinity scarf to match this hat is also available here in my shop:
https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/items/20003/haekel-moebius-loop-schal-fuer-alle-einfach

Material
: for the pictured model with a head circumference of 55 cm to 60 cm: approx. 250 g merino yarn, 50 g – 45 m, crochet hook 6.0; measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends.
The rib pattern requires approx. 50 g more yarn than is normally usual for hats. The crochet hook size should match the yarn being used.

Socks work anytime and anywhere:

Sock Knitting Course for 4-ply Yarn - all sizes for baby, children’s, women’s, and men’s socks

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

Knitting socks (possibly with leftover sock yarn) is wonderfully easy to do - no matter where you are,

  • whether on the couch in rainy weather or a snowstorm
  • whether winter or summer
  • during a (work) break
  • in a boat on the lake/sea
  • at the beach
  • while traveling by train/plane
  • or, or..
..and both little and big feet will be delighted with the results..

This is an illustrated sock knitting course using baby socks size 15, knitted from 4-ply sock yarn, with charts for all sizes

Included in the download:

Integrated into the main pattern is a brief baby mitten pattern, since parts of the baby sock pattern can be used for it.

Don’t be alarmed! It is harder to describe the process than to knit the socks.

Required materials:
4-ply sock yarn (wonderfully soft options include, for example, Ferner “Lungauer Sockengarn” merino sock yarns or Austermann “Step” with aloe vera and jojoba, or “Comfort” with cashmere)

  • approx. 15 g for the baby socks,
  • approx. 10 g for the baby mittens,
  • for adult socks up to size 44: 100 g,
  • if larger than size 44, then 150 g is required.
Set of double-pointed needles 2.5, measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends.

The baby socks can also be embroidered, for example, and used in various ways - not only as baby socks - e.g. as “packaging” for gifts of money or sweets, as an Advent calendar, as a keychain - there are no limits to your imagination.

Tunisian crochet - very easy with a pillow, bag, case, and hiking seat cushion

(For purchase/download, please click the image)

Tunisian crochet is easy. Just try it with these patterns (see image gallery). Basic crochet skills are enough. The various simple Tunisian patterns are described in detail and illustrated.

4-in-1 PDF pattern:

  • a pillow 33 cm x 33 cm, “filled” with 2 towels or stuffing, etc., or 40 cm x 40 cm or your desired size
  • easy to repurpose as a purse/bag.
  • plus a seat pad for hiking and
  • a glasses case for your sunglasses
Depending on the color combination, the textured pattern always looks a little different. The measurements can be easily adjusted to any desired size.

What we need:
100 g in the main color (turquoise here) and 50 g in the secondary color (beige here) of a yarn with 50 g – 100 m, for needle size according to the label 3.5 – 4.0, a matching Tunisian crochet hook or a Knooking needle, measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends, pins;
Gauge according to the label of the yarn used here: 18.5 sts x 27 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

The amount of yarn is also enough for a 40 cm x 40 cm pillow.
For larger pillows, please calculate correspondingly more yarn.

Included in the download :

  • PDF pattern for pillow/bag, seat pad, and glasses case, illustrated on 23 pages
  • PDF pattern: blog “Recalculating gauge – here’s how”

We need for sizes S/M/L:
300 g cotton (blend) tape yarn, Keiki by Austermann used here, 63% cotton, 37% polyamide, for needle size 5–6, gauge according to the ball band 16 stitches x 23 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm, 50 g – 90 m, pins for blocking, tape measure, yarn needle for sewing in ends,  scissors, row counter is helpful. Good to have handy:

READ OFF instead of calculating - PDF gauge table for knitting and crocheting

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

Here it is—the much-requested PDF table for determining the number of stitches to cast on: READ OFF instead of calculating—whether printed out or on a smartphone, always at hand—this PDF table is simply practical for on the go.

You crochet or knit your gauge swatch (at least 10 cm x 10 cm), count how many stitches make up 10 cm for you, and can then conveniently read from the table how many stitches you need to cast on for your desired measurement.

For pattern instructions
"number of stitches divisible by ... plus   ..." I recommend this Excel table (click me).

Knitting Pattern: Traditional Bodice / Top

(Click the image to purchase/download )

This (traditional) bodice is laced; alternatively, you can also attach (traditional) buttons—whichever you prefer.

The pattern is designed for size S/M—but thanks to the stitch pattern and lacing, it stretches to fit up to size 42. Any size is possible —it’s easy to adjust due to the simple pattern—and it’s suitable even for beginners.

Basic knitting skills and the ability to crochet chain stitches are sufficient
(everything is explained with illustrations in the separate PDF)

Included in the download:

  • PDF knitting pattern (includes images from the photo gallery)
  • PDF Knitting Basics – Illustrated Basic Knitting Techniques

You’ll need
approximately 250 g of yarn with a yardage of 125 m to 130 m per 50 g for needle sizes 3–4 and a gauge of approximately 22 sts x 30 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm, as indicated on the skein label.
Used here: Size 3.5 knitting needles and a size 3.0 crochet hook.

Standard knitting supplies: measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle, stitch holder, or additional circular needles for holding stitches; stitch markers are not required here.

If needed, buttons, cord, or velvet ribbon, unless you’re crocheting.

A pattern even absolute beginners can handle!

These glass coasters are perfect for crocheting outdoors in the sunshine. You’ll need very little yarn (about 20 g per coaster), and they’re quick to make. Then you can use them right away. They’re very practical because you can also use them as lids for your glass, so nothing can fall into your drink.
Prerequisites: chain stitches, slip stitches, single crochet.
Materials: leftover cotton yarn for a 3.5 mm hook, 3.5 mm crochet hook
