Little Calf Rattle Crochet Pattern
Click here to go directly to the crochet pattern

This cute little calf will make any baby smile. With its cute little bell, you’ll instantly grab their attention and have a great time playing :-) . The rattle is about 20 cm tall including the horns. It fits in any bag and can be taken anywhere. The perfect distraction on the go and at home. The little calf is easy to make and is also great for crochet beginners! You just need to know the basic crochet techniques: single crochet, increasing and decreasing single crochet stitches, making a magic ring, and sewing the individual parts together. What you’ll need:
  • Approx. 20 g of yarn in the color you want the calf to be (I used “Sun City” yarn by Schachenmayr). This yarn should be suitable for a 3.5 mm crochet hook. Leftover pink yarn for the nose, as well as leftover dark brown and red yarn. This leftover yarn should be suitable for a 3 mm crochet hook
  • A 3.5 mm crochet hook and a 3 mm crochet hook. If you use a 4 mm hook for the body, the calf will be larger.
  • A darning needle and scissors
  • stuffing
  • 8 mm safety eyes; if you don’t want to use safety eyes or don’t have any, you can of course embroider the eyes instead
  • stitch marker
  • A small bell
16-page crochet pattern with lots of pictures
Difficulty level: easy

This crocheted balloon cover is a great toy even for the very little ones.

Thanks to the protection provided by the granny squares, the balloon inside won’t pop, but the ball is easy for a baby to grab if you inflate the balloon only slightly. If it rolls away, the baby will quickly crawl after it. Later on, you can inflate it more fully, making it great for playing with both indoors and outdoors.

It washes and dries quickly.

The pattern shows, step by step with plenty of pictures, how to crochet the individual granny squares and then assemble them into a ball.

It’s also ideal for using up leftover yarn.

Babies love baby rattles. And they’re also great toys because they help develop little ones’ motor skills and curiosity.

The “Knight – Princess – Pirate” baby rattles are popular with both boys and girls. They fit nicely in the hand. Schachenmayr Catania yarn was used; it’s nice and soft with a good grip.

The pattern is easy to follow even for ambitious beginners, as all steps are described in detail and the pattern also includes many pictures.

The duck comforter is a wonderful little gift that’s also quick to make—the time needed is only about 2–3 hours for somewhat experienced crocheters.

With this 13-page, richly illustrated pattern (over 45 photos), you can easily crochet Duck Mia yourself—everything is explained in detail.
This makes the pattern very suitable for beginners as well—basic knowledge should be present, though.

Duck Mia is also wonderfully suitable for leftover yarn —less than 30 g of cotton yarn is used in total.

Dimensions :
  • Length: 11 cm
  • Width: 13.5 cm
Materials needed:
  • 3 colors of cotton yarn in coordinating colors (yardage 115 m per 50 g)
  • Color 1 approx. 15 g (for body)
  • Color 2 approx. 4 g (for feet + beak)
  • Color 3 approx. 7 g (for head + flower)
  • black embroidery thread for embroidering the eyes
  • a little stuffing for the eyes
  • crochet hook sizes 2.5 + 3.5
  • darning needle, pins if needed
Skills needed:
  • magic ring
  • single crochet incl. increases and decreases
  • slip stitches
  • chain stitches
  • color changes
  • double crochet incl. increases and decreases
