Newborns urgently need a soft, cozy blanket.
The pattern for knitting such a beautiful blanket is well described. This blanket is also ideal for beginners. It is knitted in squares.

You need 100 g each of Gründl Lisa yarn in purple, yellow, white and light blue. Needle size 3.5 cm, and you also need 2 needles (short ones are enough). If you have any yarn left over, you could also knit matching baby booties or a little hat. Size: approx. 50 x 50

The newest little earthlings definitely need such sweet shoes or booties.

Materials needed: 30 g white wool, 30 g purple wool or light blue, a leftover bit of black, size 3 needles. I used Gründli Baby uni. You knit in ribbing and need to know how to pick up stitches from the edge. You have to knit 1 single hole for the cord, but it’s just a yarn over and is explained very well.

Baby Traditional Knit Cardigan Size 50/56, including a gauge conversion chart

(Click the image to purchase/download )

...THE classic traditional style in miniature...

For this easy-to-knit baby traditional cardigan , you’ll need approx. 100 g of 4-ply sock yarn,  e.g., Zimba Top by Schoeller+Stahl in classic traditional gray + 50 g (or leftover yarn) of Regia 4-ply yarn in traditional green for the edging, size 3.0 knitting needles, and, if needed, a size 3–3.5 crochet hook for the decorative chain stitch trim on the placket.

The PDF pattern includes illustrations .

You’ll also receive, as a bonus, a simplified version of my Excel spreadsheet for quickly converting your gauge to your desired size (applicable to all knitted/crocheted pieces; requires a spreadsheet program such as Excel or LibreOffice, the latter of which is available for free online).

Basic knitting skills are required (i.e., these steps are not illustrated).
Required knitting skills : cross cast-on, knit stitches, bind off, increase stitches from the strand between stitches, yarn over (for the buttonholes), knit 2 stitches together.

By the way: This jacket can also be knitted as a vest without sleeves (in which case, crochet around the armholes once in green using single crochet stitches).

The download includes 4 files :

  • PDF pattern for individual premature baby socks with total foot lengths from 4.5 cm to 7.5 cm (23 pages, including images)
  • PDF pattern with detailed illustrations explaining the basic principle (using newborn socks as an example—17 pages)
  • PDF of hand-drawn sketches (using a newborn sock as an example—2 pages)

Basic knitting skills (including decreasing stitches) are sufficient.

Materials needed for 1 pair of socks up to newborn size: approx. 10 g of 4-ply sock yarn or leftover yarn. You’ll also need a set of size 2.5 double-pointed needles, a measuring tape, scissors, a yarn needle for sewing, and a keyring if desired.

Easy baby crochet shoes incl. knitted version

(To purchase/download, please click the image)

This is an illustrated crochet pattern for easy-to-crochet baby shoes.

Basic crochet skills are enough.

We need:
approx. 50 g cotton (blend) yarn with a yardage of approx. 90 m per 50 g, for (knitting) needle size 4.0–5.0; used here: crochet hook 4.5; thinner yarn can also be used - the specified measurements are what matter, leftover yarn for the bows or 2 pretty buttons, yarn needle, measuring tape, scissors.

In addition to the detailed pattern, I have made a short crochet guide (sketch) as well as a short guide for the knitted version.

By the way: you can also “wrap” gifts of money this way..

Have fun “crocheting/knitting little baby feet” :-)

These booties are knitted and crocheted. Depending on the yarn used, the booties measure between 9 cm and 10.5 cm. The 9-page pattern shows how to make the booties step by step.

Little hats for the very smallest ones are popular and in demand.

With this crocheted baby bonnet, the ears are protected too, since it ties at the bottom.

You can crochet this hat with any yarn, preferably with some cotton content in summer, or like the hat shown here, from Schachenmayr Regia. Only 35 g of this yarn is needed, and it is quick to crochet. Basic knowledge required: double crochet, chain stitches, and single crochet. In the 11-page pattern, the individual steps are explained in detail, and the pattern is supplemented with many pictures.

The bonnet also looks very pretty in two colors, so it’s ideal for using up leftover yarn.

Why not take a look right away—this baby hat is quick to crochet.

Here I’d like to show you a few ideas from my shop for things babies might need:

Cuddly toys and baby toys are popular gifts for a birth. These rattles combine both, because they can be used for cuddling and for playing. The rattles also make noises, encouraging little ones’ instinct to play.

Babies have a very high need for warmth. And since the body loses a lot of warmth through the head, hats are an essential companion in the first months of life. This hat is especially suitable for winter (with warm winter yarn) or for windy spring and autumn days (with summer yarn). The ear flaps also make sure the ears stay nice and warm.

This bear is a true cuddle buddy. Two types of yarn were combined to make it. So on the one hand it has a cuddly-soft surface, and on the other hand cheerful, bright colors. The bear is approx. 55 cm tall, making it a real giant.
