last week we had a thread for girls’ dreams; this week it’s time for men’s stuff, for everything that grown-up and little men like. Patterns for Father’s Day can also be downloaded or presented directly here.

A slouch hat! Some mothers may shake their heads, but believe me, your son will thank you.
The hat is knitted with a wool-blend yarn (yardage 150 m per 50 g); sock yarn is suitable too. The amount needed depends on the length (the longer, the slouchier), but you should plan on at least 180 m.
The pattern is simple, has no particular difficulties, and is fun to knit too.
The pattern is available in three different sizes.

Crochet Hat for Everyone - very easy

A wonderfully easy-to-crochet hat for various styles, meaning ONE hat model wearable in all the pictured variations, both for men and women. Also easy to make for children or as a simple hat for babies (though thinner yarn is recommended).

And the best part:

• no gauge swatch (it doesn't depend on the exact centimeter),
• no increases or decreases,
• for any yarn you like
• possible in all sizes.

The PDF pattern includes pictures.

These crochet skills are enough: chain stitches, single crochet.
Everything else and slip stitches are explained.

Material: for the pictured model with a head circumference of 55 cm to 60 cm: approx. 250 g merino yarn, 50 g – 45 m, 6.0 mm crochet hook; measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends.

The ribbed pattern requires approx. 50 g more yarn than is normally typical for hats. The crochet hook size should match the yarn used.

Baby traditional-style knitted cardigan size 50/56 incl. gauge conversion table

..THE traditional classic in miniature..

For this easy-to-knit baby traditional-style jacket, you need about 100 g of 4-ply sock yarn, e.g. Zimba Top by Schoeller+Stahl in classic traditional gray + 50 g (or leftover yarn) of 4-ply Regia for the border, knitted in traditional green, knitting needle size 3.0, and if needed a 3 - 3.5 crochet hook for the decorative foundation chain on the front band.

The PDF pattern is illustrated, but is not a knitting course.

Basic knitting skills are required (i.e., these are not illustrated).

Required knitting skills: long-tail cast-on, knit stitches, bind off, increase stitches (from the strand between stitches),
yarn over (for the buttonholes), knit 2 stitches
together.

You will also receive, as a bonus, the simple version of my Excel table for quickly converting your gauge to your desired size (can be used for all knitted/crocheted pieces; calculation software required, e.g. Excel or LibreOffice, the latter available free online).


By the way: This jacket can also be knitted without sleeves (then crochet around the armholes in green 1 x with single crochet) as a vest.

It doesn’t always have to be just cute.....

Most people have a healthy respect for hornets, me too, especially when they look this mean. The hornet is a perfect gift for men, because as we all know they love the "mean look" and can easily put this hornet in their car.

Sewn onto a pair of underpants as a party gag, it’s also an absolute hit 

Difficulty level: very easy

What you need:
Yarn Gründl Happy (100 g = 250 m yardage):

• Yellow approx. 60 g
• Black approx. 20 g
• Red approx. 10-15 g
• White approx. 10 g
  
• Some white fabric as well as red and black Edding markers for the mouth
• Glue
• Crochet hook: 3.5, yarn needle, scissors, and stuffing

What you need to know:

chain stitches, single crochet, magic ring, half double crochet, increasing and decreasing stitches

Baby Knitting Set Jakob - 4 Pieces

This trendy baby knitting set consists of a hat, jacket, loop scarf, and baby shoes and is made from soft merino yarn, approx. 120 to 130 m yardage (approx. 150 g in petrol + approx. 50 g light beige or eggshell) for needle size 3 to 4. You will also need a measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends, 3.0 mm crochet hook, 1 button for the loop scarf, buttons for the jacket if desired, and an appliqué if desired.

Gingham-patterned beanie.



Knitted in two colors, this beanie is a real eye-catcher. You shouldn't be a complete beginner at knitting, but this pattern works very well as a starter project for two-color knitting.
You'll need a wool-blend yarn with approximately 114m per 50g in two contrasting colors, and you'll knit with 4mm needles. The gingham pattern is shown in a knitting chart.

This knitted ribbed scarf with an integrated cable pattern is also well suited for men.
I knitted it from a wool-silk blend yarn with a yardage of 300 m per 100 g, needle size 3.5. But you can also use other yarns; sock yarns are very suitable as well.

Men’s Cowl, “The 12er”

Why is this cowl called “The 12er”?
I didn’t come up with the name until I was knitting it. That’s when I noticed that the number 12 keeps repeating.

But of course, that’s not a requirement—the number of stitches and rows can be adjusted.

Materials:

• 2 x 50 g Morbido Alpaca Superfine yarn (held double)
• 60% baby alpaca, 25% merino, 15% nylon
• Length: 375 m / 50 g
• Circular knitting needle, size 5, 40 cm
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle

About the yarn:
This cowl is knitted with the yarn held double. Any yarn that can be knitted with size
5 needles will work.

Gauge:
18 stitches x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm
