Fun, colorful owls bring color to your kitchen - in the colors of Crazy Patterns!
You’ll need cotton yarn with a meterage of 125 m/50 g (100 g each in red and green, 50 g each in turquoise and orange) and a 2.5 mm crochet hook. The pattern is 13 pages long and includes many pictures; difficulty level: medium.

Or do you prefer black and white? The sleeping cat is made from the same material as the owls, but it is easier to crochet because only single crochet stitches are used and, apart from the ears, only circles are crocheted. You can find the pattern here.

Every kitchen needs pot holders. Whether for hot pots and pans or for the hot baking sheet coming out of the oven. But not every pot holder has to look old-fashioned or like something your grandma would make. These cool shark oven mitts not only look cool, but are also a great kitchen helper.

They’re super quick to crochet and make a great gift—or for yourself. You could even use this shark as a hand puppet. The pattern is explained very simply and includes pictures.

I have a double-knit potholder with knitted-in hearts here for you. The technique isn’t entirely easy, but it’s very effective, since the pattern is mirrored in the colors on the back. Plus, double knitting actually creates a double layer, which is very practical when you want to handle hot pots.
For this you’ll need cotton in two different colors, depending on the weight 45–60 m of each color. You’ll also need knitting needles that are slightly thinner than indicated on the yarn label—this creates a more even stitch appearance.
The potholder has a crocheted border all around, and the loop for hanging is crocheted too.
The heart pattern is shown in a knitting chart.

Crochet potholders a little differently
Usually, you need two potholders to carry a pot or pour off the water. Then the corners still hang down and get wet. Well, this one is different. This size is enough for an average pot, goes from handle to handle, and even holds the lid in place. And it looks fun too, adding a cheerful splash of color to the kitchen in bold, bright shades, or looking elegant in soft colors in a country-style kitchen.
Materials:

• Cotton yarn or potholder yarn
• Crochet hook size 3–3.5
• Scissors, needle

Requirements:

• Chain stitches and single crochet

Potholder 'So green, so green' - Tunisian crochet

A touch of fresh spring green as kitchen decor or for real use as a potholder made of 100% cotton – a useful little gift for all kinds of occasions.

Both the PDF pattern for the potholder and the pattern for the crochet flower(s) are illustrated step by step.

Materials:
For 1 standard-size potholder, 21 cm x 21 cm:
50 g light green + 50 g dark green crochet yarn made of 100% cotton/plant fiber for heat resistance, e.g. Schoeller+Stahl Record 210, 50 g- 90 m, according to the label 16 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm), so 50 g per color for the Tunisian crochet hook up to max. size 4.5.

For the flower(s), a leftover amount of cotton yarn is enough, e.g. Catania (Schachenmayr) or Limone (Schoeller+Stahl) for crochet hook size 2.5 - 3.5.

Note: heat-resistant cotton yarn (= potholder yarn) is only lightly twisted and therefore difficult to crochet with, especially for beginners, because the yarn splits a lot. So if heat resistance is not that important to you, for example if you won’t place a hot pot on the potholder, you can also crochet with a cotton-blend yarn, e.g. Pantino by Schoeller+Stahl.

You will also need a measuring tape, scissors, and a yarn needle for sewing in ends.

General crochet skills are sufficient; the Tunisian crochet technique is explained with pictures.

For this, you need 50 g cotton yarn per color for a size 4.5 crochet hook.
