There are lots and lots of double crochets in this infinity scarf. To keep things from getting too boring, there are a few “double crochet variations” mixed in. You shouldn’t use yarn that’s too thick, but otherwise, anything you like is allowed.

Crochet pattern: 6-sided potholder (double), hexagon

With these potholders, you can really practice crocheting double crochet stitches, because they consist almost entirely of double crochets. And these are also explained in quite a lot of detail.

The great thing is that so many double crochets turn into such a modern and colorful potholder.

The potholder consists of several hexagons, which are then joined together. Thanks to the detailed step-by-step pattern, even beginners can crochet this potholder.

Material
Yarn of your choice (e.g., Catania yarn) in 3 different shades of blue /
Crochet hook 2.5 mm (or also as desired) / scissors / a little black yarn for joining the pieces

What will be crocheted
Chain stitches / single crochet / slip stitches / double crochet (explained in detail)
Increasing and decreasing (explained in detail) / crocheting in rounds / simple sewing
Have fun crocheting double crochets!

I have another lovely recommendation for those who enjoy crocheting double crochet stitches:
The "Spirella" rug. We crochet with 3 strands of yarn, so we make quick progress and will soon have a beautiful new, original rug for the kids' room finished. The back is, of course, made non-slip. In the pattern you will find all the sources for the materials used.

Materials for a 75 cm rug:
  • 1 maxi skein of affordable acrylic yarn (e.g. G-B Big Wucht, yardage 1200 meters/400 g
  • or another yarn with the same yardage; costs approx. 8–10 euros),
  • plus a size 6 crochet hook
The pattern is also ideal for crochet beginners, because we only crochet chain stitches and double crochet stitches.

I hope you have lots of fun crocheting.

Best wishes - Yours, Ina

You can also crochet a beautiful summer hat for girls using lots of double crochet stitches. For the brim, we also crochet single crochet stitches and chain stitches—and then this especially lovely, fashionable head covering is done.

Materials:
  • 100 g “Bingo” ONline Linie 163 (yardage 125 m/50 g) or another
cotton yarn of the same weight
  • Colorful leftover cotton yarn for decoration
  • Crochet hook no. 3 (for the head)
  • Crochet hook no. 4 (for the brim)
The pattern is also very suitable for crochet beginners.

Best wishes and happy crocheting — yours, Ina

You need double crochet stitches and chain stitches for this scarf, which stands out with a delicate mesh and cable pattern. Crocheted in bright colors, it’s an airy accessory for cool summer nights—but of course you can also choose more subtle colors if you don’t want to attract too much attention :-)
You’ll need two 100 g skeins of 4-ply sock yarn and a 3.5 mm crochet hook for it. Even the cables are crocheted very easily in double crochet stitches—no magic involved!

You can find the pattern here.

You'll find lots of double crochets and a few chain stitches in my granny patterns for my Pattern Mix Blanket.

Granny Number 3, for example. Even in the inner circle there are quite a few double crochets to make.

In the pattern, the granny is shown both as a crochet chart, and each row is explained in writing with lots of pictures.
