Even in the merry month of May, four-legged friends love a cozy little spot!

I'm the staff for three mixed-breed tomcats who keep me pretty busy. With this soft, cuddly spot, I'm treating not only the kitties but also myself to a little break.

The spot has been a huge hit with my headstrong housemates, so I'll be crocheting even more.
Here is some info
  • Measurements: diameter approx. 40 cm
  • Material: soft wool and cotton yarn
  • Reversible: one side paw appliqués, appliqués with single crochet and double crochet (hook size 3)
  • one side crocheted-in paw, worked in directly
  • the base is crocheted in spiral rounds with single crochet (hook size 6)
  • The border is crocheted on directly with single crochet (hook size 5)
Even beginners who have mastered the basics of crochet can make this lovely piece.

Crochet Pattern: Girl’s Skirt with Flower

With this pattern, you can crochet a pretty skirt (any size) with a comfortable elastic waistband. The elastic is worked directly into the waistband as you crochet, making it easier for the girl to put on and take off. Materials: This pattern is ideal for using up leftover yarn. However, for beginners, I recommend using a self-striping yarn. This way, you won’t have to deal with annoying color changes, and the skirt will feature multiple colors. I used Katia Cotton Stretch yarn (87% cotton, 13% polyester), 50g, 170 m. However, you’re welcome to use a different yarn, such as cotton or a cotton-blend yarn.
Crochet hooks sizes 3 and 4. The pattern includes detailed photos and is suitable for beginners with basic crochet skills.

The *Ruhu* Guardian Owl belongs in every home. It acts as a door indicator, so everyone knows right away whether the entrance is open—or not.

I came up with this idea because we always remove the key from the toilet or bathroom door when my granddaughter is visiting. That way, she can’t accidentally lock herself in. This cute guardian owl is the perfect solution for us, and we also use it when one of us needs some peace and quiet to work. Without saying a word, everyone in the house knows right away whether the way is clear—or not.

By the way, it also makes a very useful gift. For both children and adults, this little door watcher to hang on the bedroom, study, or children’s room door is very welcome.

You’ll need the following materials:
Red and green thinner cotton yarn—scraps are enough (here I used yarn with a length of 170 m/50 g), scraps of white and beige cotton (gray also works), buttons without visible holes in dark brown, dark blue, or black, stuffing or leftover yarn for filling, and a 3.5 mm crochet hook

You’ll need the following skills:
  • single crochet, slip stitch, chain stitch, half double crochet, and treble crochet
  • Crocheting in the round (explained in a short workshop with photos, including the magic ring)
  • Decreasing and increasing stitches (briefly explained)
  • Cross-stitch
You’ll get a 16-page pattern (PDF) for the Guardian Owl RUHU. All steps are described in detail, mostly with photos. This means even beginners with basic skills can follow it well.

This light and airy summer top is quick to knit, looks great, and is also suitable for beginners with basic knitting and crocheting skills.

The 14-page pattern, featuring many photos, describes each step in detail. What makes this summer top special is that it has almost no seams. Only the shoulders need to be sewn—or crocheted—together at the top.

All measurements are given in cm, so the pattern can be easily adjusted for any size, both in width and length. This pattern is based on a size 38–42.

The following basic skills are required:
  • knit and purl stitches
  • knitting a yarn over
  • knitting in the round
  • binding off stitches
  • increasing stitches from the strand between stitches
  • sewing or crocheting pieces together (only at the shoulder)
  • changing colors
  • crocheting chain stitches, single crochets, half double crochets, and slip stitches

You’ll need the following materials (for size 38–42 as described here):
  • 200 g of cotton (here: 150 m/50 g) in white
  • 1 x 50 g (or scraps) of cotton in pink
  • 1 x 50 g (or scraps) of cotton in light lilac, or alternatively powder pink
  • One 60 cm or 80 cm circular knitting needle in size 3 and one in size 3.5
  • One size 3.5 crochet hook
  • A yarn needle for weaving in ends
  • A few stitch markers (e.g., small loops of yarn)
I’ll be posting a matching skirt here in the next few days. For the pink shades, I used the leftover yarn from the skirt. Of course, you can also use other colors to use up your leftover yarn.

Chic for summer

The Springflower tunic is ideal for spring and summer, but it’s also an absolute eye-catcher in fall under a cardigan.
The slightly flared skirt section hides unwanted little bulges and gives little girls the feeling of being a little princess.

The crochet pattern describes in detail, with words, photos, and a crochet chart, how to crochet such a pretty tunic to fit each body individually. A standard size chart from 104–146 is included, but the Springflower tunic can be crocheted for any body height.

It is worked downward in rounds from the neckline. This means you can completely avoid annoying sewing work. The simple patterns are easy to memorize and even beginners will quickly get the hang of them.

Get the crochet pattern for the Springflower tunic here now and get ready for summer:

Romantic summer skirt - a dream in pink - easy to knit even for beginners with basic knowledge

This summer skirt is perfect for many occasions and can be worn with tops, blouses, or shirts. It is easy to knit and still catches the eye with lovingly romantic details.

The skirt is knitted from top to bottom in one piece, so it has no seams. In the pattern, we use a size 38-42 as the basis. But it can easily be adapted to all sizes, even for a children's skirt.

Click here for the pattern for this romantic summer skirt.

Here is a photo of how the skirt looks in combination with the white-and-pink top, which you can also find in my shop:
