Everyone is familiar with socks for winter, but maybe not yet with summer socks for cold tile floors. They are very practical, comfortable on the foot, and quick to crochet and knit with our patterns. Discover patterns now.

Summer Socks


These little socks are crocheted. That saves you the fiddling with a set of double-pointed needles. With 100 g of sock yarn (4-ply) and a size 3 crochet hook, the little socks are finished in no time.

Or do you just want something for the cold tiles and would rather go barefoot when you head outside? Then try the summer slippers:



You need for knitting:

• leftover cotton yarn 125 m/50 g (approx. 60 g total),
• 2 decorative buttons,
• set of double-pointed needles and 4.0 circular knitting needle

Since the shoes are sewn at the heel, the slippers are also suitable for inexperienced sock knitters.

Bamboo yarn (50% polyacrylic / microfiber and 50% bamboo)

Socks knitted from 6-ply yarn with charts for all sizes

Socks made from 6-ply sock yarn are a little thicker—and therefore warmer—and, most importantly, quicker to knit than socks made from 4-ply yarn. They are usually preferred for house and bed socks, hut slippers, or even for hiking in mountain boots. Men love socks like these in work shoes.


This is basically a sock knitting course, shown in detail with pictures using children's socks in size 32/33. All other sizes can be knitted according to the corresponding chart information for 6-ply sock wool.


Don't be alarmed! It is harder to describe the process than to knit the socks.

We need 1 ball = 150 g (yardage approx. 420 m to 450 m) up to shoe size 44; 200 g – 250 g from size 45 in a 6-ply sock yarn; the particularly soft merino sock yarn used here is color 02 “Mally Socks – Lungauer Sockenwolle” by Ferner Wolle, 75% merino, 25% polyamide;
Gauge approx. 22 sts x 31 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm; set of double-pointed needles size 3.5; row counter is helpful; measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends.

These moccasin-style summer socks are eye-catching and just right for the transitional season and cooler summer days. They are knitted very simply without a heel. You just need to know how to knit with a set of double-pointed needles. For these socks, you need about 100 g of sock yarn in the main color and scraps in white or cream white.
You also need a set of double-pointed needles, 4 buttons, and shoelaces.

Difficulty level: intermediate

What you need to know: magic ring, single crochet, half double crochet, slip stitches, and a bit of dexterity

What you need for the socks: 

Color-coordinated yarn from Gründl Happy, buttons for the eyes, 3.5 mm crochet hook, plus a sewing needle and scissors. You can find exact quantity details in the respective product description

Warm feet in just about 2 hours!
These crocheted socks aren’t just a must-have for cold tile floors
—they’re also perfect for beginners! Super easy! In just about 2 hours, you’ll have crocheted these cozy house socks. They’re worked starting
from the heel. What you’ll need: 1 8mm crochet hook, 200g of yarn (100m per 100g), leftover yarn of the same weight. Gauge: 10 x 10
cm = 12 stitches and 18 rows. You should know how to do: half double crochet, chain stitches

Probably the easiest sock .....The "Lazy Sock"

The socks are crocheted from the cuff to the sole in back-and-forth rows.
The cuff consists of post double crochets, which are worked alternately from the front and from the back,
making the cuff very stretchy. The toe of the sock is widened in the center of the work with increases. The increases at the heel give the sock an anatomical fit.

You need to know these stitch variations:

• single crochet
• half double crochet
• front post double crochet, back post double crochet
• decreases and increases are worked with half double crochets
• triple decrease, decrease 3 stitches together with half double crochets

For this great project you need:

• a 2.0 mm crochet hook
• sock yarn 100g / 420m; I crocheted with AKTIV sock yarn from Supergarne, which you can get in many great colors and
  spectacular color gradients
• a pair of scissors
• a 3–3.5 mm crochet hook for the foundation chain and the first row with half double crochets, to close the sole of the sock.
