This comfortable, cozy knitted piece in an oversized style weighs only about 275 g with the yarns used here, so it is featherlight.

Both stitch patterns used are absolutely simple. The collar design requires a little care, so the difficulty level is intermediate. The length is variable.

The model shown is knitted with double strands and needle size 6.0 mm using 175 g KidSilk by Austermann plus 100 g Merino Lace by Austermann. Alternatively, you can choose yarns with a needle size suitable for the yarn that roughly match a gauge of 17 sts = approx. 10 cm with 6.0 mm knitting needles, e.g. approx. 450 g Dolce Mohair (Mondial) - knitted with a single strand. Further yarn alternatives - including without mohair - are listed in the pattern. Stitch markers are highly recommended.


The illustrated PDF pattern with stitch- and row-by-row instructions is based on the gauge mentioned above. Due to the casual shape and stretchiness of the jacket, one stitch more or less is not that crucial. If your gauge differs more significantly, please choose a larger or smaller knitting needle size. The pattern does not include a knitting course, but it does include relevant link tips.
