Dear users, dear authors,
crafting for babies is fun. The projects are so small and cute—you just can’t get enough of them. Newborn items are even smaller and make great gifts for new moms . Of course, you can also make things for your own newborn.
Here in this thread, you can find inspiration and the corresponding patterns.
Have fun, and best wishes for the health of both mom and baby.

@Authors:
This is a thread for all authors.
Please limit your posts to 2–3 patterns per author.
Be sure to include a link, a photo, and information about the materials, technique, difficulty level, and any special features of the pattern.

A cozy baby blanket is an absolute must for a newborn’s first essentials. Whether on the go or as a play blanket at home, it keeps the new little arrival nice and warm.
It can be made in any color, yarn weight, and size; the pattern explains exactly how. Shown here for boys in shades of blue—for little
princesses made in shades of rose/pink. The blankets shown in the pictures have
a size of approx. 85 cm x 85 cm.

Click here to go directly to the pattern:

Materials needed:
  • For each blanket, 1200 m of 4-ply yarn with a beautiful color gradient was used here. Of course, any other yarn can also be used
  • crochet hook suitable for the yarn used (I used size 3.5)

You will receive:
An 11-page, richly illustrated pattern with step-by-step explanations through to the finished product. Illustrated explanations for
the required front/back post double crochets are also included. In addition, a
computer-created crochet chart.

"So, I’m here now, but unfortunately a little too early, so I need preemie hats"
Quick to knit with sock yarn. And just like that, the new little earthling has a warm little head

The hat grows with them and can of course also be knitted for newborns with the brim folded up less.

A sweet gift for new little arrivals is also this baby hat "Emma" with a delicate little star pattern.

This pretty hat is quick to crochet, and thanks to the detailed step-by-step pattern with numerous illustrations and an additional crochet chart, it is also easy for beginners to make.

You will need the following materials:
    • approx. 50 g yarn total in 2 colors – e.g. Wolle Rödel Soft Merino in lilac and white, yardage 100 m / 50 g
    • 5.0 mm crochet hook - I use a larger hook here than specified for the yarn so that the hat becomes softer and lighter
    • and a darning needle for weaving in ends
The pattern includes detailed instructions for a total of 3 sizes:
    • 0-3 months,
    • 3-6 months and
    • 6-12 months
I also show you how you can very easily adjust the pattern to any other size and any yarn you like - without any gauge and without annoying calculations!

This way you can give gifts not only to your littlest loved ones - siblings won’t miss out either and can choose their very own favorite colors. No one needs to have cold ears anymore ;-)

So grab your favorite yarn and your crochet hook and try it yourself! You can find the pattern here >>>
