How about a chic phone case in a checkerboard pattern with a pretty edelweiss appliqué?

I’ll guide you step by step through the pattern with plenty of pictures, so that the pattern—which may seem complicated—becomes very simple. The process of making the edelweiss appliqué is also described in detail and illustrated with pictures. All you need is

• basic crochet techniques (making a magic ring, single crochet, double crochet, and post double crochet—all of which are explained in detail and shown with pictures in the pattern)
• A 4mm crochet hook
• Yarn suitable for a 3–4 mm hook (I used “Hauswolle made in Austria”)
• Scissors, darning needle

This simple phone case is very suitable for beginners. 



You’ll need: any yarn (I used cotton yarn with a yardage of 125 m/50 g), a suitable crochet hook, scissors, a yarn needle, and optionally a button.

The phone case can be adapted to fit any mobile phone/smartphone and can be crocheted with or without a flap closure.

You should have the following basic skills:
crocheting in rows, chain stitches, single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet.

• Schachenmayr Catania or similar cotton yarn (LL 50 g/125 m) Colors: red, turquoise, apple green, orange
  
• Crochet hook 2.5–3 mm (depending on how tightly you crochet)

• 2 black buttons for the eyes (diameter: 1 cm)
