Matching baby shoes for every outfit – quick and easy to knit..

You can also divide up the colors differently as you like, fold the cuff inward or outward, sew on a button, etc. There are no limits to your imagination.

The step-by-step illustrated main pattern describes the version shown in the cover image. There is also a short pattern to print out and a sketch (be sure to download).

These basic knitting skills are required:
casting on stitches, knit and purl stitches, knitting in rows, edge stitches, binding off, color changes.

We need:
50 g soft merino yarn with approx. 120 m - 130 m yardage per 50 g skein, color petrol, for knitting needle size 3 – 4, approx. 20 g of matching leftover yarn in the same yarn weight, color eggshell white or light beige (= leftover yarn).
Gauge according to the ball band: 22 stitches x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm, used here: knitting needle 3.5,
tape measure, scissors, yarn needle, and a 3.0 crochet hook for the bow.

Baby Cardigan JAKOB plus Cowl

This baby cardigan (from the 4-piece set "Jakob") can be worn in all seasons, and without the cowl also on cool summer days. The cowl is knitted separately and buttoned at the back.

The set is made in size 62/68 (but can possibly still be worn at size 74 too - it "grows with the child") from soft, temperature-regulating merino yarn with approx. 120 to 130 m yardage (e.g. by Schachenmayr)  for needle size 3 to 4 (approx. 150 g in petrol + approx. 50 g light beige or eggshell). Sweet appliqués are available from Prym or UnionKnopf, available in specialist haberdashery shops (e.g. at my shop :-))

General knitting skills are sufficient.

This value set includes the illustrated pattern for the traditional baby jacket (size 50/56) and the short pattern for the matching hat in a simple, absolutely classic traditional style for our littlest ones.

Basic knitting skills are sufficient.

Both pieces are knitted from soft merino yarn with 120 to 130 m yardage per 50 g skein, for knitting needle size 3 – 4.
Used here for the little jacket:
approx. 100 g, e.g. Zimba Top by Schoeller+Stahl in classic traditional gray + 50 g (or leftover yarn) Regia 4-ply for the edging in traditional green.
For the little hat: 50 g in gray + leftover yarn in green.

Knitting pattern for preemie socks/baby/doll socks/keychains..

Sweet preemie/baby socks for a total foot length from 4.5 cm can also be used as doll socks or keychains or as money gift packaging, or even decorate a Christmas tree – the sky’s the limit..

The PDF pattern, together with the sock chart, can be used for additional sock sizes up to shoe size 20 .

The download includes 4 files:

• PDF preemie sock chart up to size 20 for baby socks
• PDF pattern for the individual preemie socks, 4.5 cm to 7.5 cm total foot length (23 pages incl. images)
• Detailed illustrated PDF pattern for the basic principle (using newborn socks as an example –17 pages)

General knitting skills (as well as knitting stitches together) are sufficient.

Required materials for 1 pair of socks up to newborn size: approx. 10 g 4-ply sock yarn, or leftover yarn. We also need a set of double-pointed needles size 2.5, measuring tape, scissors, a yarn needle for weaving in ends, and, if desired, a key ring.

Baby traditional knitted vest size 86/92 with intarsia cable

The PDF pattern is illustrated. The red cable on the back is made using the intarsia technique (detailed explanation is included)  and requires some time and skill - so I would not recommend it for knitting beginners. The cable also looks nice in solid gray; then the whole piece knits up fairly quickly. For beginning knitters, I recommend knitting this vest completely without the cable and/or in one color.

For this special sleeveless baby vest without buttons, we need:
150 g gray merino wool + 50 g red merino wool, here Schachenmayr Merino Extrafine 120, 50 g – 120 m yardage, gauge according to the ball band: 22 sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm, knitting needle 3.0 – 4.0;
here: knitting needle 4.0, cable needle, crochet hook 3.5 for the bow, stitch holder or similar for putting stitches on hold,  yarn needle for weaving in ends, stitch marker is helpful.

Baby “knitted lederhosen” size 74 / 80

These baby knitted traditional trousers have an elastic waistband (no suspenders) and a bib front with a cable pattern in the intarsia technique. The cable can also be knitted separately and then sewn on.

The PDF pattern includes photos from the image gallery and assumes general knitting skills (cabling is described).

We need:
150 g 6-ply sock yarn, here Regia color 02140 Wood, 75% virgin wool, 25% polyamide, leftover yarn Regia Tweed 6-ply, color 00002, 70% virgin wool, 25% polyamide, 5% viscose (50 g – 125 m),
for needle size 3 – 4; used here: 2 circular knitting needles size 4.0, cable needle, trouser elastic, gauge according to the ball band: 22 sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm. A row counter is helpful, but not absolutely necessary.
