Dear users, dear creators,
elephants are absolutely wonderful, and everyone should have one. For cuddling, as decoration, and simply because it’s fun to crochet, knit, knook, cro-knit, embroider, or craft an elephant. Here in this thread, you’ll find great patterns for elephants.
So you can buy the gray yarn right away in a bulk pack, there’s also space here for dolphin patterns. This is going to be great. Give it a try.

@Authors
please post thematically relevant patterns here. Links, images, and text—along with information on materials, difficulty level, technique, and what makes the pattern special—must, of course, be included.

Eddie the Baby Elephant (crocheted)

Eddie is a cute little baby elephant who brings a smile to many people’s faces. To this day, I still can’t bring myself to part with this little elephant, because he’s just too adorable. My crochet pattern provides step-by-step instructions with plenty of pictures showing how this sweet little elephant is made. The pattern is also very suitable for beginners, thanks to the many pictures and detailed descriptions. Dimensions of the elephant when using Happy Anti-Pilling yarn: 33x30 cm. What you’ll need: Supplies: Gründl Happy yarn (light gray – approx. 350 g – plus a little dark gray, black, pink, blue, and yellow), stuffing, hook size 3.5, yarn needle, and scissors. All parts are worked in spiral rounds (except for the inner ears) and later joined together.

Crochet pattern: Baby Elephant

Isn’t this little baby elephant cute? He doesn’t have any tusks yet. The best spot for him is his favorite palm tree. But he actually feels right at home anywhere. If you’d like to crochet an elephant like this too, I have an 11-page pattern here in PDF format with lots of pictures and step-by-step instructions. The elephant measures about 15 cm long and 11 cm tall. I used a size 3.0 crochet hook and crochet relatively tightly. Materials
  • Cotton Quick by Gründl (gray)
  • Size 3.0 crochet hook
  • Sewing needle
  • stuffing
  • Adhesive eyes (can also be sewn on)
Best regards and have fun!

Knooking is a mix of crocheting and knitting. A knooking needle looks like a long crochet hook with an eyelet at the end. There are some “how-to videos” on YouTube—I’ve watched them but haven’t tried it myself yet.

I’ve already made the elephant with the mouse. My elephant has the mouse sitting on its leg. Despite several pretty convincing attempts, no one has managed to talk me into giving it to them yet.

For the very little ones, a crocheted comfort blanket or sensory cloth. The fluffy yarn used for the edging provides a tactile experience. When sewing it together, you can place some crinkle paper under the head, and the long trunk gives the child something to hold onto.

The elephant is crocheted from 100% cotton (school yarn/potholder yarn), but of course you could also choose a different yarn blend.

It’s quick to crochet and makes a lovely gift for a first visit to a new baby.

I look forward to your visit as you browse through my patterns.
