You have to start applying cream early, preferably in kindergarten, so wrinkles don’t get a chance to spread in the first place.
That was the impression I got, purely subjectively, after seeing several anti-wrinkle ads and matching videos.
@Krea_Tina
distract from them, or cover up wrinkles with scarves, etc.?
That's a difference :-)
@Birgit
as far as I can tell, you look young anyway.
Pen gymnastics—that's something I should try sometime, but only when I'm alone.
With age comes wisdom. :-) So you might as well speed up aging right away.
***new marketing idea***
"Give up anti-wrinkle creams, save a lot of money, and gain wisdom. Wrinkles are visible signs of your life experience and your maturity. Others will envy you for them. Wrinkles make you sexy and attractive." I don't think anyone would go for it. If someone does go for it, I'd like my fee in the form of cheese and chocolate. A well-padded face (not gaunt and haggard from dieting) actually has fewer wrinkles, and you simply look more content when you're not always on a diet. :-) When your face starts to sag and slide downward as you get older, it's also quite practical if your face is well padded. It disguises the sagging. I read that on the internet. :-) Reading educates you. :-)
I still hold out hope that I’ve inherited my mother’s and grandmother’s genes in this regard—meaning my hair turns white very quickly, but I’m wrinkle-free. My mother is now almost 62, and aside from a few laugh lines around her mouth and eyes, she has a smooth, beautiful, wrinkle-free face framed by a white mane of hair.
She’s never used any anti-wrinkle creams. Just moisturizers when her skin was a little too dry. And in the winter, she always used rich creams when she went outside to protect her skin.
Oh, and she’s always done a lot of handicrafts. So that really speaks in favor of handicrafts over slathering on creams!
if crocheting and knitting keep wrinkles at bay, I honestly wonder why I don’t look 15 :-)
It’s true that well-padded faces look younger.... but what can a woman do if that padding just doesn’t want to show up???? For me, cheese and chocolate only help to a certain extent.
And nothing can sag on me ^^^... what could, when there’s nothing there ;-)
Speaking of which: “Give up anti-wrinkle creams, save a lot of money, and gain wisdom. Wrinkles are visible signs of your life experience and maturity. Others will envy you for them. Wrinkles make you sexy and attractive.”
Where should I send the chocolate, and what kind of cheese would you like? :-)
Yeah, if that’s the case, I’m in the perfect position.
1. I never use cream! I don’t use any anti-wrinkle creams, night creams, masks—nothing.
2. I’ve gotten pretty plump by now *sigh*
But honestly, I don’t really care whether I have wrinkles or a little extra padding. I’ve learned that there are much more important things in life. ;-)
Life is very relaxed when you don’t have to constantly worry about your appearance. ;-)
@Josefa: I’m talking about distracting from them with pretty scarves and such :)
No one should have to hide their wrinkles, because there are far worse things than those.
Nothing makes a person more beautiful than a warm, radiant presence and a sincere, heartfelt laugh.
What good is a perfectly smooth face if the person then pulls a face like seven days of rain and has the charm of a slice of toast?
At 25, I don’t have any wrinkles yet, but I’m not doing anything to prevent them either.
Whatever comes, comes—I don’t care :)
(For example, I also have a lot of stretch marks on my body because I gained a lot of weight at one point. They don’t bother me one bit; I just accept everything as it comes.)
I think this whole “smooth-skin obsession” is really over the top. It’s okay for people to see that I’m almost 40 and have a few small wrinkles. I’d rather spend my money on yarn than on creams.
about 5 years ago I tried “Botox for poor people” (facial paralysis).... I really didn’t have any wrinkles on my face then.... but my face has never looked so unnatural...
and honestly, I don’t get this obsession with youth... I’m almost 50 and have deep laugh lines—well, and certainly a few worry lines thrown in too. They’re part of who I am, and if anyone doesn’t like it, they’re welcome to look the other way.
I do use cream, though, since I have some skin issues and always need to moisturize and nourish my skin after cortisone treatments… that’s more for skincare than for rejuvenation :-)—if I don’t forget.
I’d also rather invest in chocolate and wool—the important things in life take priority.
