Homemade Gifts (Not an Advertising Thread)

Dear users, dear authors,
what homemade gifts have you received?
I know you love giving homemade gifts, but this time let’s discuss it from the recipient’s perspective. :-)

My mom has already knitted two pillows for me. Since she hadn’t done any knitting at all for years, I’m especially happy about them, of course. :-)

For Christmas, I got a knitted poncho from a coworker. I was really happy about it because I can’t knit, but I think knitted ponchos are much prettier than crocheted ones 

My mom once gave me a handmade heart necklace—it’s beautiful, and I absolutely love wearing it :)

My youngest daughter (15 and had never done any textile crafts before) made her first sewing project at school:

a tote bag with an appliqué, small outer pockets, and—especially for me (after some tough negotiations with the teacher)—two inner pockets. She explained to the teacher that Mom absolutely needed them—for her crochet hook and scissors. 

This is my new crochet bag for when I’m on the go... She sewed it beautifully. Straight seams :-) I can tell it was made with a lot of love, and I’m so proud of my little one! She’s welcome to use my sewing machine anytime

For Christmas, I got crocheted slippers and Fröbel stars in eight different sizes.
Since I know that the lady who gave them to me—at 88 years old—already has a few problems of her own, I was of course even happier to receive them, and the slippers are nice and warm.

I received a gorgeous scarf from my coworker, made using the finger-knitting technique. She’s hopeless with any kind of needlework, so I was absolutely thrilled.
My 9-year-old son made me a beautiful door wreath. It’s decorated with angels and stars—he’s really got a talent for this.
My daughter (7 years old) made me a poster. It had lots of cut-out pieces, lots of glitter, and even more love.

And, of course, my sister gave me her homemade cookies. They’re wonderful, and we all absolutely love them.

So I’ve been showered with gifts, and I’m thrilled with every single one—I truly appreciate them all!

My two sons drew and made some beautiful pictures for me for Christmas.
My oldest (7) also made a lovely table lantern for Christmas at school, which turned out really great—he worked unusually neatly and carefully. My younger son (3) stamped a sad angel made from hand and foot prints onto a sheet of paper at preschool and painted the rest—unfortunately, he painted the mouth with the corners turned down :-) Really wonderful gifts that we were very happy to receive.

And my friend gave me a small, intricately folded box with a lid, along with 15 minutes for myself—inside is a tea light, a tea bag, and a story written on a piece of paper. A very lovely idea that I was also very happy to receive.

I’m always really happy to receive handmade items :-). As a teenager, I used to do a lot of crafting with needle and thread, and my friend’s little sister gave me a hand-sewn pincushion shaped like a cat back then. I absolutely love that pincushion, and even after 30 years, I still use it almost every day :-).
For Christmas, my friend gave me homemade chocolate liqueur and hand-knitted socks. A great combination for cold winter days :-)

Our 8-year-old gave us this boot (it was filled and is now hanging on our fridge) for Christmas :)
