Dear users, dear authors,
the shy trend oracle here at Crazypatterns whispered to me that it had spotted the stripe trend in its crystal ball. All colors, horizontal stripes, vertical stripes, narrow stripes, wide stripes—it’s all there.
Who likes stripes? Who doesn’t like stripes? What would you like to see stripes on? Where do stripes just not work at all?
I like horizontal stripes in all variations—whether solid-colored, colorful, wide, or thin. Of course, they don’t always work, not with everything and not for everyone, but generally speaking, they’re right up my alley. Even as a toddler, I was always thrilled by striped socks. So this love of stripes must be genetic :-).
In the ’80s, when colorful wide stripes were “in,” I happily jumped on that trend. If that trend comes back, I’ll be right there again—though probably a bit more restrained, as befits my age.
I’ve also worn vertical stripes, but I only like them when they’re very fine and in very subtle colors.
Now that I think about it, I only have one jacket—a blazer with horizontal stripes. But have I ever actually worn it? No, I don’t think so.
Otherwise, though, I really do like stripes. But I prefer them in combinations like black-and-white, blue-and-white, red-and-white—basically anything that looks great paired with white or black.
Right now, though, I’m still pretty much stuck in the plaid trend.
Best regards, and have a great day—unfortunately, I have a pretty bad cold and have to sit in the doctor’s office for what feels like an eternity later on. Puhhhhhh I hope you’re all doing well
Thank you so much for your get-well wishes. Unfortunately, it’s a viral flu.
But at least this is forcing me to get plenty of rest.
Because of the body aches, crocheting is unfortunately harder than usual,
but I’ll be fine.
Because what doesn’t kill me makes me stronger....Hi
I think stripes—aside from the classic pinstripe suit—have something cheerful about them :-). I definitely like them. As a teenager, I once had a knitted sweater with colorful stripes. It was really chic with jeans back then :-). Today I prefer the classics—black and white, red and white, etc.—but I still love wearing colorful striped socks :-) and I also think stripes look great on kids’ clothes.
I hardly ever wear them myself, but I like stripes too. Especially when they’re irregular and you have to look a little closer to figure out if they’re placed randomly or if there’s a specific pattern behind them.
