Flowers in Ice and Snow

Especially when it’s freezing, icy, and snowy, you can never have enough flowers. These colorful accents—which even beginners can make using leftover yarn—brighten up any gray day.

This bouquet of flowers doesn’t mind the cold outside or the cool, dry air indoors: It blooms as beautifully as in summer and needs no care—except for the occasional dusting :-).

 
 
The blossoms are made from photo cardstock and are about 8 cm wide—a great opportunity to use up paper scraps. The flowers are very easy to craft, but you’ll need a little patience for cutting them out and gluing them together.

Bring a little sunshine into your home this winter with these flowers, and they will instantly put a smile on your face. Choose either Flora the flower or her little sister Lisa. Both are also available as a money-saving set in another listing in my shop.

Materials for Flora:

• You need a size 2.5 crochet hook
• approx. 110 g yarn (depending on yardage and weight). Catania by Schachenmayr was used here,
• safety eyes/buttons or similar
• stuffing

The ball is made of photo cardstock and measures about 19 cm in diameter. It’s easy to make, even for crafting beginners—the only skill you’ll need is patience when cutting out the many flower pieces.
