"Beautiful Things Made of Wool" Has Changed Its Name

Beautiful woolen items aren’t just available from me! And that’s why I needed a new name.
I searched for a long time, and finally found it.
And then I got the courage and inspiration from my dear colleagues. :- ) Many thanks to everyone who helped with the name change.

About the new name:

“Velana” is a combination of “Verena” and “lana.” Most of you know “lana” from Prolana, crosslana, and all the other names out there—it simply means “wool.” ;-)

Verena is a bit more interesting. Verena von Zurzach is a saint who supported her loved ones through her handicrafts. While I’m lucky enough not to have to rely on handicrafts to support my family, I hope Verena is still there behind me and gives me a little nudge in the right direction now and then.

“Creations,” on the other hand, is kind of boring. I didn’t want “Design” in the name, but “Velana” on its own wasn’t enough either. And then a very dear colleague came up with “Creations.” ;-)

And that needs to be said—especially when it comes to changing names, which I’ve recently experienced again.

It’s great when authors don’t just see each other as competitors, but help, support, critique, and praise one another.
