This winter-themed window decoration is a great craft project for the Advent weekend and can be either a meditative solo craft session or a small family project.

The window decoration is made from cardstock and tracing paper and measures approximately 65 x 47 cm. It’s cut out directly from the template, so there’s no need to painstakingly trace it onto the cardstock; once you’ve joined the template sheets together, you can move right on to the fun part of the craft.

This weekend, a Christmas shopping frenzy is on the horizon!

We consider the addiction to DIY patterns incurable—but harmless. Once you’re hooked, you can hardly expect to ever sit on the couch again without being armed with at least one crochet hook… unless you’re lying on the couch dreaming about your next big or small project. We’ve got patterns ready to help you maintain a good work-life balance… to clear your head after work, find meaningful and relaxing activities for your vacation, or to get delightfully entangled with like-minded people (and like-minded women????) while chatting away about this and that and everything under the sun… We wish all DIY revolutionaries lots of fun and plenty of happy successes :-))

Warm regards from Prince Charles and the Queen Mum as well—they’d love to have breakfast with you!!!

Crochet Pattern Baby Dragon Jimmy (Beginner-friendly)

You definitely won’t need a dragon slayer for this enchanting little dragon. With his tiny, outstretched arms, Jimmy will tempt you to simply take him in your arms and cuddle him. The little dragon is about 34 cm tall and just under 28 cm wide, and the pattern is also suitable for beginners. Over 24 pages, I show you how Jimmy, the little baby dragon, is made, with lots of pictures, text, and tabulated stitch explanations. Just give it a try — you’ll love him ;) What you need: Polyester yarn, various brands (for example, I used Gründl Happy and store brands from Real and Karstadt) 50 g = 120 m LL/100 g = 250 m LL :
  • Turquoise approx. 250 g
  • Dark purple approx. 30 g
  • Light purple approx. 60–80 g
  • White fabric scraps for the eyes and tongue + red and black permanent markers + a little glue
  • Thicker craft wire for the tail and wings (if the dragon is for children, I would leave out the wire)
  • Crochet hook 3.5, yarn needle, scissors, and stuffing
Optional for a firm standing/sitting position:
  • Fill a small bag with bird sand
What you need to know: MR = magic ring M = stitch FM = single crochet Lm = chain stitch zusm. = together
verdp. = increase vMg. = front loop hMg. = back loop

Are you still looking for a few pretty gift tags? You can quickly make these Christmas finger puppets from a few bits of leftover yarn. They look wonderful as gift tags or tree decorations, and after Christmas you can use them to put on a puppet show!

The pattern is available here

These stars are also the perfect craft project for the weekend.

The six stars are made from cardstock and tracing paper and measure approximately 30 x 26 cm. They’re easy to cut out, and you can make many more of them by swapping or replacing the colors of the tracing paper.

Why not knit another gift to put under the Christmas tree? This hat comes in 8 sizes for the whole family and knits up quickly. The pattern is only a 2-row repeat and easy to follow. And why not go for a walk during the Christmas season in matching hats ? What child wouldn’t be happy if Mom had the same hat?

You’ll need between 50–80 g of yarn with a yardage of 106–130 m per 50 g.
