Does lace yarn hold its shape or not?

Hi :)

From what I’ve heard, lace yarn is ideal for summer clothes because it’s so nice and light. I just wanted to know if it holds its shape well or if it ends up looking pointy and uneven. I’m talking about the finished garment made with lace yarn. Is there maybe a way to prevent that by using a different working technique?
I’d really appreciate it if anyone could share their thoughts or experiences on this topic. It might interest other people too, since temperatures are rising right now and lace yarn is pretty popular, from what I’ve noticed.

So far, I’ve knitted a jacket, a loop, and a Möbius. They’ve all held their shape—maybe it depends on the needle size.

Thanks for your reply. So do you think that using a smaller needle size would make the whole thing hold its shape better?

What was so special about lace yarn again?

Well, it’s just a lightweight, high-quality yarn for summer clothes.

It’s very thin and knitted with large needles, so it’s light and airy.
