Dear users, dear authors,
children’s games are often full of imagination. With the right toys and clothing, you can stimulate and nurture a child’s imagination. Here in this thread, you’ll find everything that little princes and princesses, knights and noble ladies will enjoy. Let’s get started.

@Authors
please share patterns that fit this theme. Please also include an image, link, text, and information about the materials, difficulty level, technique, and what makes the pattern special. Good luck!

Here are 2 residents of the royal castle to start with: the princess and the king. These finger puppets are quickly crocheted from a few scraps of leftover yarn, and then you can start inventing and acting out a few princess stories right away. You only need basic crochet skills. All steps are explained in detail with lots of pictures.
Here is the pattern:

These three cute rattles won’t just delight babies. Soft and fluffy, they fit nicely in a baby’s hand. When shaken, the baby can hear sounds, so the knight, princess, and pirate also offer a fun learning experience. The rattles make a great gift for a new baby or a christening.

The pattern is richly illustrated and therefore easy for beginners to follow. It’s also particularly well-suited for using up leftover yarn.

The ebook includes patterns for all three rattles. You’ll find all the necessary materials, the stitches used, and the patterns here: Baby Rattle Patterns: Knight + Princess + Pirate

In the days of knights and princesses, there were also pirates who then had to be rescued.

With the pattern for the pirate ship with figures, you do need a bit of time, but the children’s eyes will light up.

It is made entirely from cotton and explained step by step. The pattern is over 40 pages long, but also well illustrated.

Hello, everyone,
what little girl doesn’t play princess with her dolls? And what does a princess need? That’s right: beautiful dresses, hats, and bags. Would you like to crochet some? Then here you go… here are a few lovely crochet patterns for them.
You’ll need fine yarn (I used “Katia New Babette for Baby”) and a size 2 crochet hook. But you can also use another thin yarn from your scrap stash—maybe something with glitter? Once our gauge swatches match, we’re ready to go. The patterns are also suitable for beginners, since I explain and demonstrate everything in detail. There are also crochet charts for those who prefer to work from them.
I hope you have lots of fun crocheting.
Best regards — “Ina strickt”

Some princesses prefer a more fitted style, which is why this fashion trend for little ladies is included here as well. Chic dresses, hats, and bags. Choose what you like and simply crochet along. I’ll explain and show you everything in detail. For these designs, you’ll need cotton yarn (e.g. “Catania Fine” or “Sonja” by WollButt, or another yarn with matching gauge) and size 2 and 2.5 crochet hooks.
I hope you enjoy the patterns and achieve lovely results.
Best wishes - Ina

What makes every little princess’s heart beat faster? Jewelry and glitter and hair clips. But so it doesn’t all end up tossed carelessly in a box, you could crochet a beautiful storage basket like this for your princess. It is firmly attached to the hanger and can therefore be carried from A to B when the things are needed in the room next door. The little ones will also have fun redecorating it again and again, you’ll see.

What do you need for it?
  • 400 g cotton “Catania Grande”
  • Crochet hook size 4.5, crochet hook size 4
  • 1 wooden hanger with bar
  • Darning needle, scissors
  • Borders, lace, buttons, flowers, beads, clips, and other decorations
The pattern is also suitable for crochet beginners, as I show and explain everything very precisely. I wish you lots of joy crocheting and the princesses lots of fun playing with it.
Best wishes - Yours, “Ina strickt”

Even knights have families and need somewhere to live. Here I have two suitable homes as St. Martin’s lanterns – one for the knight, the other for the castle maiden:

Both lanterns are made from cardstock (colored card) and tracing paper, both are only about 16 x 29 cm in size and therefore easy for small children to carry. The knight’s castle lantern is a little more elaborate than the castle maiden’s lantern, but actually both are not difficult to make and are also well suited for beginners with a little crafting experience.
