A red Christmas doll—it doesn’t get any better or more fitting than this.

With this beginner-friendly pattern, you can crochet a cute little doll in red!

It uses very little yarn—you’ll need less than 50 gr., such as Schachenmayr Bravo.

The doll measures about 20 cm and is perfect for placing under the Christmas tree, as a table decoration, or on a windowsill.

Difficulty level: easy to medium

You’ll also need safety eyes, stuffing, and, if desired, doll hair.

Red as love is the beautiful crochet shawl "Be my Valentine".
Crocheted from the bottom up, groups of double crochet alternate with little hearts and create a particularly lovely pattern. The highlight is the little hearts that are crocheted onto the points.

For the shawl you need:

• Yarn (about 700 - 900 meters, depending on the yarn used)
  
• Crochet hook in the appropriate size
• Sewing needle

I love red in all its variations. A particularly simple pattern that is also perfect for beginners is the red Moebius, which keeps you warm in winter both as a scarf and as a hat.

You need 180 m of bouclé yarn for needle size 6-7 and a few scraps for the stripes. It is knitted exclusively with knit and purl stitches. You should also know how to cast on and bind off stitches.

This colorful stole was created in the CP logo colors, and it also works great as a scarf-hat to protect against icy winter cold.

What looks complicated is totally easy. For the stripes, you only crochet chain stitches and half double crochets. With the help of the detailed braiding pattern, the stripes are joined together into one big piece.

500 m of yarn in each of 4 colors were used—you can of course also use 8 different colors. It was crocheted with a size 3 hook.

Santa Claus Tag




I have a Santa Claus too—though it’s just his face on a festive gift bag.
 

 
Both the 18.5 x 21 x 14 cm bag and the Santa Claus are made of cardstock and are easy to make. The bag itself comes together very quickly. Only the Santa Claus, since he’s made up of several individual pieces—some of which are quite small—takes a little time to assemble.

You can, of course, crochet these felt slippers in any color—I like them best in red.
All you need is felting yarn (for best results,
I recommend Supergarne’s No. 1 felting yarn) in three
different colors,
shoelaces, and a size 5
crochet hook. The pattern is well suited for beginners; you just need to know how to make
single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet, and how to crochet stitches together.

I designed this poncho using gradient yarn in shades of red but it’s sure to become a beloved companion in your favorite color, too.

The pattern is suitable for beginners.


What you’ll need:

2 x 1 gradient yarn cake, each 1,200 meters long, 4-ply, total weight
1 size 5 circular needle (60 cm)
1 size 5 circular needle (120 cm)
1 stitch marker
1 yarn needle for weaving in ends


It is knitted from the top down in rounds. The length and neckline can be adjusted easily. I explain exactly how in the pattern.

Shades of red like a sunrise—with the knitting pattern for the Amrun triangular shawl, you can knit yourself a wonderful accessory for a casual fall outfit.

Amrun is the Elvish word for sunrise, and the colors and shapes are reminiscent of the first rays of the morning sun.

You can knit this shawl with many different types of yarn. I used a cooling cotton, but you can also get a great result with sock yarn or other cozy yarns! The yarn used should not be thicker than DK (8-ply).

Materials needed:

• Approx. 600 meters of sock-weight yarn (I used 50 grams of Drops Safran and 150 grams of Rowan Siena 4-ply)
• Circular knitting needle in the appropriate size and length (I recommend a cable system like the one from Knitpro)
• Stitch markers
• Tapestry needle

The shawl is started with a few stitches at the tip and knitted up to the neck edge. The finishing edge is then knitted on across the shawl using short rows. This is described in detail later in the pattern. You should allow approx. 40–50 meters (approx. 8–9%) of yarn for the finishing edge.

Finished size after blocking: approx. 160 x 80 cm

The pattern is 9 pages long and includes written instructions as well as detailed charts. Difficulty level: medium.

Red—Not Just a Color for Kings

When the leaves change color in autumn—from green to yellow to red—it’s time once again for big, cozy shawls.

The Herbstlaub Shawl is intended for somewhat more experienced knitters.

Groschenmaus

This St. Nicholas boot is very roomy and can be filled generously—much to the delight of the recipient.


 
The boot is designed to be very sturdy and, when glued carefully, can hold quite a bit of weight. It’s made from photo cardstock, measures approximately 18.5 x 21 x 9 cm, and can be easily carried thanks to the carrying cords. With a little crafting experience, the boot is easy to make yourself.

“Red, red are all my clothes…” Oh, how lovely children’s songs are. Yes, red is a great color! Especially in winter, it’s a welcome splash of color amid all the dark jackets and coats. I have a lovely hat plus a matching scarf or cowl for you.

You can knit the beanie in two sizes: small (approx. 48 to 52 cm) and large (54 to 58 cm head circumference). What makes this beanie special is that it’s knitted in two layers, which makes it especially warm and cozy. The beanie shape allows you to hide even a full head of hair
underneath. The double-layered ribbing is elastic and automatically adjusts to your head circumference. You can choose to make it either as a scarf or as a cowl.

The pattern is suitable for beginners, as each step is shown and explained individually. You’ll be knitting knit stitches, purl stitches, and yarn overs. The most challenging part for a beginner is probably the cable, but even that is explained in detail.

For this set (with the cowl), I used 350 g of “Azteca” by Katia. For the scarf version, you’ll need a little more—depending on the desired length of the scarf. You’ll also need size 4 and 5 circular needles.
