Dear users, dear authors,
Men are still underrepresented in the world of crafts—that is, knitting, sewing, crocheting, crafting, and so on. Here at Crazypatterns, we’re naturally all for equality, even when it comes to knitting and crocheting, which is why I’m starting this thread. Here, you can share patterns that are great for men to make, as well as patterns that are great for men to make themselves. How you interpret that is up to you. It’s sure to be an exciting read. Have fun with it. Men reading along, please speak up or just write “hello” or something similar in the thread. That’s guaranteed to get you a lot of attention, gentlemen.

@Authors
Please post thematically relevant patterns here, each with a picture, link, and description. Information on the technique, materials, difficulty level, and what makes the pattern special must be included. Please let readers know in detail exactly why they absolutely must buy your pattern.

Hello everyone
I’ll speak up as a man. I’ve been crocheting and knitting for almost 50 years now and still enjoy it. And I have to say, from my point of view, there aren’t any special things that men crochet or knit.

We men go for everything :-)

Whatever we like, we take on.
For my part, over the course of my crafting career, I’ve crocheted or knitted pretty much for everything and everyone. For grandmas, grandpas, babies, little kids, big kids, women, and men.
If I like an idea, I just make it.

And you’ll find great Anleitungen  in my shop. and I’d say they’re all suitable for men...
:-) after all, they’re by a man.

"Crochet Hat for EVERYONE" - a wonderfully easy-to-crochet hat for various styles, meaning ONE hat model wearable in all the pictured variations (see also the image gallery when viewing the item), for both men and women. Easy to make for children too, or as a simple hat for babies (though thinner yarn is recommended). And the best part: no gauge (it doesn't come down to the exact cm), no increases or decreases, possible with any yarn you like in all sizes. The PDF pattern is illustrated.

These crochet skills are enough:
chain stitches, single crochet. Everything else, including slip stitches, is explained.

Material:
for the pictured model with a head circumference of 55 cm to 60 cm, I used approx. 250 g merino yarn (e.g. MyBoshi No 1 or 3), 50 g – 45 m, crochet hook 6.0; measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle for sewing in ends
This hat  (see picture in the signature) and quite a bit more is available here in my shop:
https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/store/Traudelina

There is one "danger" with this hat, though: your wife/girlfriend/son/daughter might want to "snatch" it - grin.

knapp 50 g Rafia von Adrialfil, 100 % Zellulose (Rafia von Mondial, 100 % Viskose), 25 g – 50 m, Handwäsche, für Nadelstärke 4,5 – 5,0, hier verwendet: Häkelnadel 4,5;
Maßband, Schere, Woll-Nadel zum Vernähen;
Maschenprobe mit diesem Material: 4 feste Maschen = 3,5 cm / 1 Reihe = ca. 1 cm hoch.

Fertigmaße mit Bastgarn "Rafia":ca. 5 cm an der breitesten Stelle – ca. 130 cm – Länge variabel.
Bei Verwendung eines Baumwollgarns, z.B. MyBoshi No. 2, 50 g – 100 m, für Häkel-Nd. 4 – 5,
(Maschenprobe lt.

Brand new: there is now a matching hat for the Ansgar Boyfriend Loop! The ANSGAR Hat is for cool boys and real men! Together with the loop, it’s of course the perfect set for getting through the winter in style. The textured pattern is easy to knit, and the decreases are explained step by step. For the original, I used Arroyo by Malabrigo, a hand-dyed merino yarn. But you can also easily use any 6-ply sock yarn or other yarns in a similar weight. Get the knitting pattern for the hat right here:
https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/items/20849/strickanleitung-boyfriend-muetze-die-muetze-fuer-den-mann-einheitsgroesse

And of course, it’s best to add the pattern for the loop right away too:

Happy knitting from
Annette

As a Christmas gift that’s guaranteed to make boys’ and men’s eyes light up, I have the following crochet pattern:

         Here’s the pattern.

These tractors take a little time to crochet. But they’re all the more fun for it!
The pattern is written in great detail; even a beginner can make it.

You’ll need:
  • Wool/yarn in gray and black, plus a color for the bodywork (the thicker the yarn, the bigger the tractor!). Detailed quantities are in the pattern.
  • Stuffing
Have fun!
