Textile Yarn

Hi everyone,
I just “found” some textile yarn on eBay and wanted to ask if anyone has experience working with it. Specifically, can it be used for clothing, or is it unsuitable for that purpose?

I think you mean that thicker textile yarn made from thin strips of fabric? I’d say it’s better suited for sturdy items like rugs, poufs, baskets, and bags. For clothing, it’s really quite bulky. The only thing I could imagine would be a mesh shirt with a large hook and treble crochet...

I haven't tried it myself yet, but I've been told that textile yarn is also really great for finger crochet.

With it, you can probably make relatively airy accessories after all...

I’ve decided to just go ahead and order some myself and see how it turns out :)

You could also start by cutting an old T-shirt or bedsheet into 2-cm-wide strips and testing it out with those. There are tons of instructions online for making textile yarn.
It would be inexpensive to start with, and if it works out, you can always order some later...

Hi meikimo, for example, my shop has slippers made from textile yarn cut from old T-shirts.
