I’m not a beginner at crocheting, but I’m having a bit of trouble with this pattern.

1. Do the 3 starting chain stitches in the double crochet row count as the first double crochet? Or: which stitch do I crochet the first double crochet of the row into?

2. Does the slip stitch go into the last stitch of the previous round, or into the 3rd stitch of the 3 chain stitches at the beginning?

3. After the 6th/10th row, row 5 is to be repeated. (You’re supposed to crochet around the chain stitch between the clusters.) Row 6/10 is a double crochet round, so you can’t crochet around the chain stitches there.

4. I’m crocheting the sweater in size 104. Row 9 has 75 clusters. Where exactly do I need to crochet a double crochet so that I end up with 188 stitches in row 10?

5. Which rows should I repeat instead of rows 15 and 16 so that I end up with 118 clusters each time?

6. Why does row 11 have more clusters in the smaller size than in the larger sweater? Especially since the preceding row 10 has the same number of stitches in both sizes?

So many questions! I’d really appreciate some answers, especially since the sweater is very beautiful and my granddaughter is already waiting for it.

Best regards, Beate
