I wish you a lovely weekend with plenty of time for crafting. How are your yarn life and real life going?

Thank you, Josefa—I wish you and everyone else here a wonderful weekend, too.

I’m heading to my family’s place tomorrow—we’re celebrating a milestone birthday—so I’ll be staying there over the weekend. I’m the only one here in Cologne; everyone else lives in the northern Ruhr region. It’s only 110 km, but there are usually several traffic jams, so it’s a pain to drive—it’s worth staying overnight.

As for my yarn life, I was actually only planning to use up my leftover yarn until the LaCritza Advent calendar arrives, but now she’s quickly offering a Halloween Mystery CAL—of course I have to have that. However, I’ll have to jump in later and catch up, since I’ll be traveling for a few days—total “retiree stress” here. 🤣

Our grandson has invited us over for pumpkin soup tomorrow evening. Otherwise, in real life, the yard trimmings need to be taken away, and the turtle house needs to be winterized. They want to hibernate and need to be protected from the cold. 

On the crafting front, I’ve designed a new embroidery picture that I’d like to start, and my son-in-law dropped off a winter jacket with a broken zipper. Let’s see if I can save it.

We were at the Stadtgarten in Karlsruhe today. Lots of sunshine and pleasant temperatures

Yesterday we toasted our neighbor’s new car. Weather permitting, we’ll light a fire in the fire pit today or tomorrow and cook goulash soup over it. Otherwise, after our vacation and my mom’s visit, we still have quite a bit to do to get everything back in order.

We’re doing a little work on our new patio; I’m sitting in the sun and enjoying myself. Other than that, there isn’t much to do here this weekend.

It’s my husband’s birthday today, but we’re not having a big celebration—our son is here, and our daughter lives too far away. A neighbor stopped by early this morning and brought a homemade cake and a bouquet of flowers; I was busy in the kitchen until noon. Now it’s almost coffee time, and after that we’ll just relax, sit around, watch TV, and do absolutely nothing. Going for a walk—that’s not going to happen today; it’s been raining all day ☔️. But with this kind of weather, it’s the perfect time to really relax or pursue a hobby—I’ll be doing a little crafting later. Otherwise, it’ll be a quiet and cozy Saturday.
