Hello everyone,
My 4-year-old granddaughter has a favorite sweater that ended up with me for repair. It’s knitted from fuzzy fibers—the fuzzy fibers are only on the outside; on the inside, it has a kind of mesh knit.
Now, part of the design on the outside has come undone, and the little deer is losing its “hair” between the antlers. The back of the sweater shows through at this spot.
In the third photo, you can see the back. There isn’t a hole there.
But what should I do about the damage on the front?
Can I repair the design or cover it up in some other way so the damage isn’t noticeable? I don’t have the right fuzzy yarn in this shade.
Do you have any ideas for me? Be creative—every idea is welcome.
Best regards and thank you so much for your help.
Ina

Dear Ina
Hmmm, I really hope you find a solution. If the design on a favorite sweater starts to unravel, that’s quite a disaster in the life of a 4-year-old 😍
My spontaneous idea would be to crochet a cool hat for the little deer and sew it on. Maybe in a matching shade of pink with some glittery thread? That would cover the affected spot, and you could prevent further “hair loss” by securing the fuzzy yarn under the hat as you sew it on.
I’m sure you’ll show us the result eventually, and with your skills, I’m certain it’ll be a solution that makes your granddaughter happy 🤗
Good luck and best regards
Sonja
