I just found a pattern for a beautiful twisted wind spinner on another platform. I’ve just started crocheting it, and already by the third row, I’m having doubts about how this is supposed to work. There’s a color change every row, and the pattern doesn’t specify the number of stitches after each round. It just doesn’t seem to add up.
I’m worried the pattern was generated by AI.
Has anyone else tried this before and can give me some advice?
Images removed from the pattern, Mod.
Hi Acherla,
welcome to our forum. Uploading parts of patterns here isn’t allowed. That’s why I had to remove it. Not everything that looks difficult or illogical is necessarily created by AI; sometimes mistakes or misunderstandings slip in. What’s stopping you from asking for support on the platform where you bought it?
We have beautiful wind chime patterns in our shop for all types of crafts and price ranges. You’re welcome to ask us for support for these. Unfortunately, we can’t provide support for patterns purchased elsewhere.
I wish you the best of luck.
These wind spinners usually work by doubling stitches. You don’t need to count anything.
But I’ve also seen some that looked really unique—just from the photo, I couldn’t figure out how they’re supposed to work either.
That’s exactly what I thought, too.
You’re supposed to change colors in every row and increase accordingly, but the number of stitches doesn’t add up. And then it’s supposed to create a kind of rainbow spinner from top to bottom—first white, then purple, then blue, then turquoise. It can’t work.
Basically, yes, it can twist as you increase. But the color changes don’t work. That’s why I thought it might be an AI-generated pattern. Also, in the penultimate row, a different pattern was visible in the picture. The pattern doesn’t mention anything about that. I was hoping someone here had tried a pattern like this before. They’re all over Etsy—they look great but are unrealistic. Maybe I’m just too dumb to understand the principle.
@Acherla,
please contact the seller on Etsy about this. As I already said, we don’t provide Support for patterns from other platforms.
@Community,
since we don’t provide Support for patterns from Etsy, I’m closing this thread here and starting a separate thread for wind chimes.
