Yarn weight

Hi, I’m new here and need some help. I’ve done quite a bit of crocheting and am currently working on some eyeglass cases. But I’m having trouble because I can never seem to find the right yarn.  Most of the patterns are in English, which isn’t a problem for me, but what exactly is “worsted weight cotton yarn”? What’s the yardage? Is it, for example, Hobbii 8/4? I don’t want to buy yarn again that ends up not working. See photo

I asked “Big G” about it because I was curious too. In short, it says it’s medium-weight cotton yarn, hook size 4.5–5.5 (for amigurumi, more like 3.5–4), with a yardage of 70–90 m/50 g or 140–180 m/100 g.
