🧦✨ Stitches with a Mission: Why the Crazypatterns Award 2027 Will Make Your Heart Beat Faster

Hello dear crafting community! 🧦✨

Have you heard about our big Crazypatterns Sock Award yet? We’re giving away shopping credit worth a total of €2,027 to a total of 111 winners!

It’s all taking place as part of the official sock world record—but for our Award, what counts most is your participation here on the platform. There will be new drawings every month and a big finale in March 2027.


Here’s how easy it is to take part:
🧶 Step-by-step pattern:

1. Knit socks
Knit a pair of socks however you like. Important requirements: The socks must be at least size 40, and the leg should be at least 10 cm long (15–20 cm is better). Whether colorful, solid-colored, or patterned is entirely up to you!

2. Take a nice photo
Put your finished socks in good light and take a bright, sharp photo with your phone or camera.

3. Upload the photo to the gallery
Go to our Award gallery. 👉 Click here to go to the Sock World Record gallery. Then simply click the "Upload photos" button (or "Choose file") and select the image from your device.

4. Add a short description
In the description, briefly add which yarn weight (e.g., 4-ply) you used, and feel free to share a little story about your pair. Handy: The important hashtag #Sockenweltrekord is even added automatically when you upload in this area.

5. Click "Send photo"
Click Save or Send—and you’re already in the drawing!💡

Good to know:

• No postal shipping required! To win in our Crazypatterns Award, uploading your photo here with us is all you need.
  
• If you would also like to donate your socks for the real world record (the longest clothesline), you can send them later to official collection points—but that is not required for our giveaway.

Dieser Socken Award macht gerade richtig Laune um neue Socken anzuschlagen. Jetzt wird erstmal der Garnvorrat durchforstet… mal sehen, ob sich ein tolles Garn zum Verstricken findet. ;) 

Sind auch gehäkelte Socken erlaubt ? 

Is there a reason why the socks have to be at least size 40?

Hallo Marlene, das mit der Mindestgröße 40 und dem mindestens 10 cm hohen Schaft hat mit dem Socken-Weltrekordversuch (initiiert von Veronik Hug und Susanne Oswald) zu tun. Die für diesen Weltrekordversuch gestrickten möglichst mindestens 36.000 Socken werden am Ende der Aktion (März 2027) gezählt und an Bedürftige (Kleiderausgabestellen u. Ä.) gespendet. Und da die Bedürftigen eben meistens Erwachsene sind, haben sich die Initiatoren der Aktion diese Vorgaben ausgedacht.

Die für den Crazypatters-Award 2027 gestrickten Socken kannst Du für die obige Aktion spenden - deshalb die Einhaltung der Vorgaben

• Nur handgestrickte Socken (keine Maschine/gehäkelt).
  
• Größe: Mindestens 40, gerne größer (43-45).
  
• Schaftlänge: 10–20 cm.
  
• Zusammenbinden: Paarweise, 2 cm unterhalb der Kante mit Kontrastfaden.
  

oder auch nicht. Du kannst sie also auch für Dich behalten. Aber damit an beiden Aktionen teilnehmen können, müssen sie eben die Vorgaben erfüllen.

Kleine Kindersocken kannst Du auch stricken oder häkeln, aber sie würden weder für den Weltrekordversuch noch für den CP-Award in Frage kommen.
