I had so many tiny leftover yarn scraps. I spent a long time thinking about what I could do with them. Then I came up with the idea of making buttons.

Mini owls - great as keychains or bag charms

The owls are about 5 x 3 cm small
I crocheted these mini owls quite some time ago. That year, owls in all shapes were trending. Since I don’t like parting with even small bits of leftover yarn, the idea came to me quickly.

Rainbow, 9 cm wide
A friend of mine is marrying his partner in April and wanted little favors for the guests, so I crocheted these rainbows.
What could be more fitting for a gay couple?
He has already seen them and is looking forward to them.

Short story: the bunny is intended as a small Easter gift idea or surprise, but is also suitable as a keychain or bag charm.

How small is it? The bunnies are 6 cm tall
Short story (2–4 sentences): I’m always looking for ideas on how to use up the tiniest leftover yarn scraps. You only need a few grams to make a bunny like this. Especially now around Easter, I love giving them as gifts: as gift tags, decorations for the Easter tree, flower picks, or keychains. They’re always a hit with my friends.

Short story: The pattern was once given out as a freebie in a Facebook group, and since I usually make XXL amigurumi, I wanted to try a mini one. I now have him sitting in my kitchen as a good-luck charm.

Short story (2–4 sentences): The grandchildren wanted beautiful, colorful clothes for their doll that they could play with to their heart’s content. That’s how many colorful designs came to be, and they can also be combined wonderfully. Even the tiniest scraps of yarn are enough. You can find all the designs in my Shop.

Motif/Title: Easter chicken decorations
Technique: Sewing How small is it: 13 cm tall Short story: I’ve just started sewing and needed something to practice on. Since Easter is just around the corner, I wanted to make some Easter decorations that wouldn’t be too difficult. Now they decorate my living room.

Motif / Title: Dog Tag Pouch
Technique: Sewing
How small is it? About 7 cm long
Short story (2–4 sentences): The pouch attaches to a dog’s collar or harness so the various dog tags don’t clatter against each other and bother your own dog or other dogs. And there’s even room for a poop bag ;-)

Animal numbers for kids’ birthday parties
Technique: Crochet
Size: 7 cm
Short story: For my granddaughter’s first birthday, I designed the first animal number (the horse) as a cake topper. More followed, and now there are 10, so you can represent any birthday with these little animals.

Title: Little Easter Bunny
Technique: crochet
Size: No bigger than the palm of my hand
Story: I actually crocheted Henry the Bunny for Easter in a “normal” size with a carrot backpack (using chenille yarn), so there would be room for a nice little something inside. 
But then I wanted to see what else I could do with the pattern. So, among other things, I made him using filet crochet thread. And now he’s barely bigger than the palm of my hand and even has a carrot heart with him😊

These little things are so cute ♥️

I crocheted and decorated this miniature sewing machine for a dear friend whose hobby is sewing. It’s now on display in her sewing room. 

Small and even smaller moments of happiness :-)

The keychain on the left is crocheted with Catania yarn and a 2.5 mm hook and turned out to be about 8 cm tall.
Then I found some great filet yarn and crocheted the lucky charm with a 1.5 mm hook.
The little guy ended up being about 5 cm tall.

My older daughter works as a preschool teacher and asked me to crochet “Das kleine Wir” as a farewell gift for the preschoolers. “Das kleine Wir” stands for solidarity and getting along well together.

The body is crocheted with Catania yarn and a 2.5 mm hook; for the nose, I had to switch to filet crochet thread and a 1.5 mm hook 😂

These little guys are meant to always remind the children of their time in kindergarten and of how important community and togetherness are. They were very happy to receive them.

Since my second hobby after crocheting is painting, I also painted “Das kleine Wir” onto stones about 5 cm in size.

Short story 
I love earrings.
Even the tiniest scraps of leftover yarn can be used here to create unique jewelry that can be designed to match your wardrobe.

It’s a small pincushion shaped like a strawberry muffin.
Crocheted from cotton yarn. Just big enough to stand on its own. (Height 6 cm,
diameter 8 cm)
It was a birthday gift for a friend who’s an avid baker and seamstress.

How small is it? Various sizes My adult son plays a game called Munchkin. He asked for game pieces “that not everyone has.” So, over the course of several years, I’ve given him unique pieces as gifts for every occasion. I drew inspiration from the game’s playing cards.

I still had quite a few scraps of yarn, and since I like to crochet smaller projects every now and then, and with Easter just around the corner—and because I love spring with all its bright colors—I made these little bunnies. Finished in one go. Only the head is sewn on. They’re
8 cm tall.

How small is it? The largest little pig is 8 cm, the smallest about 4 cm - measured including the tail
Short story (2–4 sentences): I think everyone can use a little lucky pig like this, and I’ve already given away lots of them. 


And here are a few little mice, too - I like mice ;-). The largest mouse is 6 cm, the smallest 2 cm - measured here without the little tail.

Short story (2–4 sentences): I had this glass container and thought to myself, an aquarium like that would be nice. Unfortunately, the first two fish turned out a bit too big, about 10 cm from head to tail. So they didn’t fit in the glass, which meant: starting all over again! The little fish are about 4.5 to 5 cm, and now “the parent fish” are perched up top, keeping watch. 

Motif: Koala Kinder Surprise Egg Keychain

Story:
I work as an after-school care group leader at an elementary school. Our class mascot is the koala. As a farewell/keepsake gift, I crocheted a 🐨 for all the children. The eggs can still be opened and were filled with a little good-luck message and a koala cookie.

Story:
A few years ago, the show “JoNaLu” aired on KIKA. My grandchildren were big fans of this series and asked me to crochet the characters for them to play with. Soon after, the larger figures (about 20 cm) had to be the parents, and they wanted children too. So I crocheted them in mini format (11 cm). Now the family was complete, and my grandchildren were happy! Grandma was too!

    

I really love crocheting little keychains and enjoy all the little possibilities they offer. Since I live in Thuringia, I thought to myself the other day... why not make a commemorative keychain...

Materials: Filet crochet yarn, hook size 1.5
Crocheting is fun; sewing it together is just part of the process ;0)

I had only ever knitted socks, but one day my friend asked me to make baby socks for her niece’s baby—I talked her out of it, because I knew from my own children how impractical they are! That’s how I ended up with these great baby booties, which are easy to put on AND tie. They’re really fun to knit 🥰

Short story (2–4 sentences): My kids asked for door wreaths with different motifs for Easter. One of them is this bunny. My daughter wanted a cute little bunny cuddling a carrot. And this is what I came up with.

Short story (2–4 sentences): This little chick is part of an Easter set. The idea was for it to fit into a small basket—as if it had just hatched from its egg. It reminds us of spring—the time when new life begins, chicks hatch, and everything starts to bloom.

Little Penny Mouse

Did you have a little mouse of your own too? Mine was made of red leather 😃, so my little mouse had to be red too, and now it serves as my keychain. That way, I always have a little change on me. Sometimes it also holds the pills I need.

Baby’s Winter Dream / Small, Smaller, Smallest

The Romane baby is 7 cm tall, the little doll is 3 cm, and the stuffed animal is 1.5 cm.

Title: The Red Panda - My First Miniature Project

Technique: Crocheted with a 1mm hook and lace yarn, in this case Rainbow Lace by Hobbii

How small is it? The panda is 14 cm long in total and fits perfectly in my hand

Short story: I’ve long been fascinated by mini and micro crochet projects, since I’ve also painted miniatures as a hobby and am always drawn to small challenges. When I crocheted the pattern in chenille back in January, I thought I’d finally try my hand at a mini version using lace yarn. Since I had the right yarn at home, I got right to work and actually crocheted with a 1mm hook for the first time. It was definitely a challenge—just embroidering the eyes took me several tries—but I’m soooo proud of it.

Short story (2–4 sentences): We coworkers always give each other birthday gifts, with one person handling the shopping. This time it was my turn, and I added some hand-crocheted toadstool earrings for my coworker, who loves costume jewelry.

Technique: Crocheted with a 2.5 mm hook and Scheepjes Little Darling, a fine chenille yarn

Pattern: The pattern is by Missbluebuttons Crochet Design, and I was lucky enough to test-crochet the little seal

How small is it? Snih is 8 cm long and 4 cm wide

Short story: Some time ago, missbluebuttons asked on Instagram if anyone had name suggestions for her upcoming three patterns: three Arctic friends, a polar bear, a snow hare, and a seal. I like requests like that, so I took the time to think about it. First I thought about what you associate with winter, and then I remembered that I also like to use words from other languages to name my role-playing characters. So I looked up what “snow” means in different languages, and that’s how these names came about: Nieve (Spanish for snow) for the polar bear, Lumi (Finnish for snow) for the snow hare, and Snih (Czech for snow) for the seal. The designer liked them so much that she let me choose whether I wanted to test-crochet one of the three. I chose the cute seal and made it first with fine chenille yarn and later again in a slightly larger size.

How small is it?  The squirrel is about 5 cm tall

Short story: Since I’ve been so excited about mini crocheting, I quickly came up with the idea of crocheting a mini version matching her nickname for a friend’s birthday. We always affectionately call her “Hörnchen” because she’s full of joie de vivre and a thirst for discovery. So I combed through my collection of books and magazines as well as my patterns, and finally settled on the squirrel from Nadelkunsthandmade. At first, I faced various challenges, whether it was getting the eye placement right or figuring out the sitting position. But the result turned out wonderfully—see for yourself!

Short story: I had an Advent calendar with lots of patterns for crocheting covers for surprise eggs. I especially liked this Mini Yoda, and it went over very well at Christmas as a hiding spot for a gift card.

Short story (2–4 sentences): Whenever we travel somewhere for a few days, I look for pretty stones—or, as you can see here, I collect acorns. So they were sitting at home in a bowl, and I did a bit of research online to see what you could make with them. Then I discovered a few penguins—and that’s how the whole thing came about.
