There’s always time for crafts!
Thanks, Josefa—I wish the same for you and everyone else here, too. I’m not really into Carnival or Valentine’s Day, but it doesn’t bother me either. We used to always go on vacation around this time—back when we still lived downtown and really close to the train tracks; it was almost unbearable. But then we moved to the outskirts of town, and here everything is very relaxed and quiet.
The weather isn’t exactly great—it’s almost always raining—but I’m still going to take a stroll through town with my friend tomorrow, do a little shopping, have a nice meal—all at a leisurely pace. And if we’re lucky, we’ll even stay halfway dry.
Since walks aren’t any fun in constant rain, I wandered through the bookstore yesterday—and that didn’t go without consequences. Alternating between knitting and crocheting will get me through Sunday and Rose Monday in a very relaxed way.
I’ll be spending Valentine’s Day tomorrow with my husband and son; my daughter and grandkids live too far away. But it’ll be a relaxed day—it’s just a normal day, after all. Following “rimajas”’s patterns, I’ve already crocheted several mugs; my husband will get one tomorrow with a little something sweet inside.
Carnival isn’t really my thing either—I can see the parade from my window, but I don’t really need to be there. I just like listening to the Guggenmusik bands.
And at home, there’s always something to do as a hobby.
Thanks, Josefa—I wish the same for all of you. Unfortunately, I have to work this weekend again. If I’m not too tired, I’ll do a little crocheting.
My husband and I don’t give each other gifts just because it’s Valentine’s Day. We still think of each other anyway. Someday we’ll go out for a nice meal when I’m off work and well-rested. Plus, my husband’s birthday is coming up soon—I’ll have the day off then, so we’ll make up for everything.
Right now, my husband is recovering from a cold.
Thanks, Josefa—I wish the same for you and everyone else here.
We’re enjoying our retirement to the fullest and making the most of it however we can, without all the fuss over Valentine’s Day—because in my eyes, it’s just like Mother’s Day: a money-making scheme by the corporations. Carnival is a million miles away from me—it’s like the *South Pole* ;-)—I’ve got absolutely nothing to do with it.
Thanks for the kind wishes, Josefa—I wish the same for you and everyone else.
We celebrated my mother’s 95th birthday on Women’s Carnival. She’s still in good physical shape. We’re not really into Valentine’s Day or Carnival. That leaves plenty of time for crafts.
