Christmas Market 2025: Are You Joining In?

Dear community,
when does the Christmas market start where you are? Are you taking part with a booth or as a visitor?

If so, then as visitors.
Provided we can get there normally again by public transport by then.

As a visitor, definitely. We have an exhibition on the first weekend of Advent here in our town. A small selection of stalls with great offerings, plus fire pits, mulled wine, and treats for visitors — lovely for strolling around. 

There’s also an exhibition with professional artists for three days that weekend at our castle. It’s a wonderful venue where the artists can present their work beautifully. I’m looking forward to that. 

Personally, I’m not taking part in any market this year, as family and the exhibition date weren’t compatible for me. 

Are you having fun at the Christmas market?

Yesterday, I ventured out to the big downtown markets with a friend. At first, it was really pleasant, but later it got way too crowded for me. And the selection… well, it depends on what you’re expecting.
For me personally, there were too many food and drink stalls (nothing against a delicious mulled wine or something like that)—I actually didn’t buy anything. The stalls that did have something to offer were very commercial—nothing special in the way of handmade items or anything like that. And they were the same ones at every market, so clearly just big retailers. We went to Heumarkt, Alter Markt, the cathedral, and Neumarkt. And no, I don’t need to go back there again.
