So I don’t forget how to knit, I’ve started knitting socks again.
I used to knit socks with a set of bamboo double-pointed needles.
Today I switched to three flexible sock needles. I’m getting along very well with them. The tips of these needles are blunt on one side and pointed on the other. Perfect for the heel. It was a good investment.😉
For me, knitting and sewing are tied for first place, followed by embroidery (mostly cross-stitch), then crafts, and then crocheting.
I’m creative in other ways as well, but since time is limited, as we all know, I have to switch between them depending on my needs and mood. When it comes to knitting, sewing, and cross-stitch, though, I always have a project or two in progress.
I think both crocheting and knitting are great. Right now, I’m knitting socks for my husband and crocheting 24 cords for my son’s Advent calendar—it’s his first one. I used to do a lot of beading (especially figures and keychains using the Japanese technique, flowers and trees with wire, and sometimes jewelry), but I don’t do that at all anymore. When it comes to sewing, my results so far are… let’s just say modest. Something always ends up looking silly. 😉
I mostly knit. Right now, I’m working on a little patchwork skirt for my granddaughter, and on the side (especially for when I’m on the go), I’m always making dishcloths. I’m also planning to dust off the DF scarf soon. Next on the agenda are some small crochet projects: little angels and other Christmas decorations—all Christmas gifts. I’d also love to dust off my sewing machine to sew a cookie-cutter pouch for my granddaughter.
