What are you working on today?

Dear community,
what are you working on today? Do you have a lot to do?

Not much, just some annoying little tasks that I always put off for ages. Sewing on a button, a seam that came undone, and stuff like that. And then I got these tiny laundry tags that I labeled with the corresponding years for the temperature blanket and the temperature snake. I still remember exactly what happened in which year, but when I get a little more forgetful, this will definitely come in handy. 🤣
I should also do a little ironing, but I’m putting that off until it’s worth the effort. :-) I’d rather keep knitting my walrus in the striped sweater—it’s just missing one side fin and the hat.

Wait! And the tusks! I almost forgot about those!

I didn’t have much to do today. I spent the morning on the sofa with a good book, and this evening my son and his girlfriend came over for dinner. So I cooked up a delicious meal.

Tomorrow, I plan to do some ironing and sewing.

Veronika, that’s a great idea about labeling things. It’s so easy to forget with all the crafts we do. I have my personal blog for that—so I can remember later everything I’ve made and experienced.

Today, for the first time, I knitted something onto an existing knitted piece. I had knitted a doll’s hat in a knit-purl pattern using some leftover sock yarn, but with the yarn running out, I decreased too quickly (a perfect landing with just over 10 cm left for weaving in), so the hat was too short. With another leftover yarn, I then knitted on a cuff in seed stitch. I like it.

members! Right now I’m working on a Pippi Longstocking doll for a colleague—or rather, for her friend.
She’d ordered one of those crochet kits but couldn’t figure out the English instructions at all, so I agreed to help.
Of course, I’ll share a picture of the finished Püppi later—if I don’t forget.

I made a new pumpkin.

Out of an old, worn-out sock. A 5-minute project. 

I haven’t done any sewing yet today, but I did yesterday. I sewed a long-sleeved, fitted dress with a large collar as a test piece. Since I was so determined to finish it, I wasn’t paying close enough attention toward the end and didn’t shorten the dress to my measurements. Now the dress, with the cuff sewn on, is 10 cm too long. I’ll have to unpick it and resew the cuff 10 cm higher up.

Otherwise, I really like the dress pattern. The warm sweatshirt fabric for the actual dress is currently in the washing machine. I’ll get to it this weekend!

It’s already mid-October, but I’m folding paper stars for a craft afternoon.
I’ll need clear patterns and examples for the participants.
It’s not until a month from now, but the preparations are already underway...
