Dear community,
Are you busy crafting today, or is real life more important?

Good morning,

how quickly a day goes by. I’ve got a lot going on in real life right now, but there’s always a little time for crafts.

Today I’m busy with our little baby hedgehog. He weighs almost 400 grams now, and we have to build him an enclosure in the garden so he can be released back into the wild. Since the weather’s supposed to be nice today, that’s on my to-do list.

Lots of appointments, lots to do, nothing fits into my schedule or is on my way, but I’ve managed to get almost everything done. So just a few stitches—I sewed a pillowcase—and later I’ll do a little crocheting. Nothing’s planned for the weekend except putting my feet up and doing some crafts.

188 stitches per needle—it’s growing, slowly but surely, a few rows every day

Love, Inge

I sewed a cover for my grandson’s history book

This used to be his bed linen.

I’ve been crocheting quite a bit today because my daughter was invited to a birthday party and I still needed to finish crocheting a mermaid for the birthday girl. Tomorrow I’ll probably have to catch up on some housework here...

Are you being productive?

What a question—of course. Busy as always.

I’ve picked up some yarn again after a long time and want to knit a narrow, short scarf for myself. The pattern I chose looks great with this yarn, but the edge is curling in, which I don’t like. For now, it’s on hold and sitting on the table so I can look at it again and again, and I hope I’ll come up with a solution for what kind of edge to use with the pattern I’ve chosen.

In the meantime, I’ll be sewing (a storage basket) and embroidering.

Petra, to keep the edge of a scarf from curling up, I always knit the edge in garter stitch, using at least 3–4 stitches—that way, the edge stays smooth.

Best wishes, Inge

Inge, I tried it with a yarn over (since I wanted to increase) and then a knit stitch, followed by an edge stitch.

It seems like too little. I also considered using only knit stitches, but I wasn’t sure.

Thanks for the tip
