Have a lovely weekend: what are you up to? / Summer slowdown starts tomorrow

Dear community,
I wish you all a lovely weekend. Do you have any plans?
Tomorrow is the official start of the summer slowdown, because political institutions / parliament, sports leagues, and cultural institutions are taking a break until the end of August.
Here in the forum and in the shop, of course, you can always find entertainment and new / exciting patterns and bestsellers.

The summer lull is when a more or less exotic animal is spotted somewhere in Germany, right? 🤣
School vacation starts here in North Rhine-Westphalia this coming weekend, too, though that hardly matters to a retiree like me (unless I happen to have to drive on one of the crowded highways...).
Since the weather is great right now—the heat wave is over and the rain hasn’t arrived yet—I’m planning another visit to the beer garden tonight. Starting tomorrow, it’s supposed to get cooler and wetter for a few days, so I’ll be doing more crafts then.
The two crocheted teddy bears will probably be finished tomorrow, so then I’ll have to find something new to work on—but I still have plenty of projects to work through, so I’m sure I’ll find something I’m in the mood for.
And I’d love to sew a starfish-shaped pillow out of fabric, but I haven’t found anything here. Am I just too bad at searching, or are there really no patterns for that yet?

Well, here in Franconia we’ve got the great white shark ;-)):-)) in Lake Brombach. A few catfish are up to no good there and biting swimmers in the lake. They’ve already caught one, and a second one struck a few days ago; now they want to search the lake to see if there are any spawning grounds. Because the catfish protect those areas, and they’ll bite if anyone gets too close.

I’m enjoying my time off—a little gardening, crocheting, and sewing. 

 

Maybe I’ll design an exotic animal like that for the summer lull, Veronika...
 

Inge, my physical therapist, is doing his best to catch a catfish...🎣 but they’re pretty smart and hard to catch. I guess that’s true about the spawning grounds—we never had any problems in Lake Bombach before. I think I’ll just stick to the beach area😂🐟....
