100 years old

100 years ago today was my grandparents’ wedding anniversary, and that’s when Grandma was given this cake plate as a gift. Ever since I was a child, I’ve always really liked this plate. Grandma gave it to me along with a delicious cake for my 18th birthday, asking me to take good care of it. I still do to this day. When my three daughters eventually moved out, I had to hide the platter, because all three of them knew and loved their great-grandmother. She always used to say, “This is mine—I got it from Grandma. When I’m gone, you can fight over it ;-) :-)” I wanted to show it to you—it’s nothing special, just a white clay platter—but to me, it’s priceless because it’s from Grandma.
