Happy Weekend / Arbor Day and World Penguin Day

Dear community,
I wish you a wonderful weekend. Today is Arbor Day. Without forests = the green lungs, none of us would survive for long. Also, it’s World Penguin Day = the approximate start of the annual migration of the penguins northward. Do you have any connection to penguins?

Will you have enough time for crafting this weekend?

No penguins for me, but I’ve planted plenty of trees in my life—trees that have certainly produced lots of oxygen and treated both people and animals to pollen and fruit.

I just make time for crafts. There’s always a little time for it. But first, I have to pull the millions of marigolds out of the greenhouse so the dill can grow in between. My grandson has asked for dill sauce with mashed potatoes. And for that, you need dill!

I wish everyone a wonderful weekend. Next week also has a holiday, so good news for those who work.

We’re having guests over today.

The time between preparations is reserved for gardening. The path is getting spruced up again. 


The area in front of the garage is full and needs to be cleared.

My youngest granddaughter loves these penguins; she has at least a good dozen of these adorable animals, ranging in size from 1.20 m to just 5 cm, if not more☺️.
For me, every day is Arbor Day, because I have a tree right outside my kitchen window.

The weather is gorgeous—I’ve been crocheting and reading on the balcony, and I went for a walk as well. When I look over at the neighbor’s property, where all the trees were recently cut down, I still feel like crying. And construction hasn’t even started yet—the trees could have stayed there a little longer.
I think penguins are great, too, but I don’t have many. A few small ones for winter decorations after Christmas, a crocheted one from last year’s Advent calendar, and a Steiff one from my childhood.
