Leggings are one of the most comfortable pieces of clothing ever. I have some, too—but I bought them, I didn’t sew them myself. They’re perfect for wearing under pants in the winter or just around the house.
Yes, they’re really comfortable—I like wearing them, but only around the house. As streetwear—especially with shirts that are a bit too short over them—I don’t think they look good; to me, it looks like I’m not fully dressed.
I like wearing them, too. They’re comfortable at home with leg warmers now that it’s winter. But I also have long tops that go down to mid-thigh, which I wear with leggings because they’re too short on me without something covering my legs (or maybe I’m just too old for them now), and my jeans are too much of a hassle.
Were they ever out of style? I’ve been seeing them everywhere for years.
At home, I prefer to wear loose, comfortable pants instead of leggings. In the summer, wearing them under dresses—as is often done—seems a bit paradoxical to me. After all, I wear a dress in the summer so my legs can stay nice and cool. 😄
I recently bought a sewing pattern for my daughter and happened to notice that the sewing pattern goes up to size 170 cm, so I thought I’d give it a try :-) I’m 168 cm tall, so I figured it would just barely work—and it actually fit really well! To check the length, I just held up a pair of leggings I already owned before cutting out the fabric!
Leggings just always work—whether under a hoodie dress or an oversized sweater—I think they can be both comfortable and chic!
I love wearing leggings, too. They’re just so comfortable, and they look great with longer tops. I don’t think they look as nice under dresses, especially since I prefer to dress more lightly in the summer.
My granddaughters also love wearing leggings. My first leggings sewing project is in the works for the two girls.
Yes, I like leggings, too. There’s nothing more comfortable for around the house, as long as they’re made of the right fabric—breathable, that is. I wouldn’t wear them outside, though. They used to be trendy—they even used to be shiny back then (think of the aerobics craze)—but I’m past that age now.
When the grandkids come to visit, we always play together on the big rug in the living room. Without leggings, that would be totally uncomfortable. This way, you can move in every direction.
If you have slightly fuller thighs, it definitely makes sense to wear a pair of leggings underneath. Otherwise, you’ll quickly rub yourself raw. That’s pretty uncomfortable.
Hi, this is my first time leaving a comment.
Hi Tilia, that’s why I also need something to wear underneath—leggings in the winter and cycling shorts in the summer.
That prevents chafing.
