Happy weekend: Are you happy with how the new year has started?

I wish you all a wonderful weekend. How was your start to the new year? Is everything going well? 

Dear Josefa, I hope you have a lovely and relaxing weekend, too. 

Yes, right now I’m very happy with my crafts. While tidying up my room, I came across my 3 embroidered pictures and immediately started looking for fabric and sewing. 

So my wall hanging was almost finished yesterday, and my snowman found a spot in a picture frame. After the wall hanging, there’s now a little chicken sitting on the ironing board. I’ll find a solution for that, too. 

I’ll post pictures when I get the chance.

Yes, so far the new year is going well—let’s hope it stays that way for now. It’s generally very quiet and wintry here; many people are on vacation, and everything feels a bit like hibernation—which isn’t unpleasant at all.
Crafts, books, candles, tea… so many moments of enjoyment!

As far as my health goes, the new year has gotten off to a mixed start for me. I had a flare-up of my polyneuropathy that was very painful and is still lingering—it’s not quite as bad anymore, but I can still feel it.
On Thursday, I had my follow-up exams after my cataract surgery; they determined my vision without glasses is 80%, which is pretty good, but I still need glasses. During the exam, they also found that I still have some cloudiness in my eye behind the new lens, which will be treated with a laser in about 3 months. Other than that, though, I’m doing well. :-) How does the saying go? Keep your chin up, even if your neck is unwashed ;-)) :-))
