Dear community,
do you have your New Year’s resolutions ready, or are you still working on them? While you’re still thinking it over, you might like to make a few lucky charms for New Year’s Eve / New Year’s Day. There are quite a few designs there that you can quickly finish using leftover materials.
Like every year, I have just one resolution: not to make any resolutions at all, because, as life tends to go, things usually turn out differently than you expect.
Hi there, Akela really hit the nail on the head. I’m not making any resolutions either. I’m just happy that my loved ones are doing well and that we all stay healthy. I’ve been swimming regularly since the summer, and it’s been doing me a world of good. I’m going to see my orthopedist; I want to achieve at least 50% for my GCB or equal status at 50%, so I can make some changes and improvements at work and request a proper chair for scoliosis. My only goal is to continue avoiding surgery to fuse my lumbar vertebrae. I’m very afraid of that—many people have said it was the best thing they ever did, but for many others, it wasn’t such a great experience.
I wish you all a good start to the new year.
No, I don’t have any resolutions like exercising more or crocheting less—everything’s fine just the way it is. It always has been. :-). I have plenty of wishes, but they’re almost impossible to fulfill—like a little more peace in the world, which I find pretty scary right now. So I’ll stick to the usual: I’ll do my best, hopefully stay fit, and take happiness and beautiful moments as they come!
New Year’s resolutions are usually laid to rest by February at the latest. I don’t have any. I just want to keep working on my UFOs. I’ve been doing that for years, and it’s been successful. Anyway, I think that if you want to change something, you should do it right away and not wait until a specific day. Because then you’re not really serious about it anyway.
I have many wishes—first and foremost, good health for myself and my loved ones, more peace in the world, and no more disasters.
I go along with the Little Lord’s mother: “Every person should make the world a little bit better with their life.”
I’m working on it. I can’t do much, but I’m happy to do what I can.
I wish you all a Happy New Year.
I already have one resolution. I need to learn to say NO when a project comes up.
Last year I managed to hold out until April—let’s see if I can manage not to work this year.
Then I’d like to redecorate my craft room and tidy up my sewing and embroidery room.
But I’ll only be able to do all that if I stick with it.
Other than that, I’d like to get a full health checkup.
I start sweating just thinking about doctors.
I hope we all stay healthy and continue to have lots of fun here on the forum.
No resolutions, but lots of wishes for things that, unfortunately, I can’t control myself.
If I want to change something, I don’t wait until New Year’s—I can fail right in the middle of the year too 🤣.
I wish everyone with New Year’s resolutions the best of luck.
Otherwise, I really hope that humanity finally learns its lesson—less ego and more humanity would be a good start.
I actually make resolutions all the time, but unfortunately, in the vast majority of cases, something gets in the way (sometimes I don’t have the time, other times my back acts up, and other times I just don’t feel like it), and pfff—they vanish into thin air or just keep simmering in the background. Right now, I really need to tidy up my office and my craft room, put away the Christmas decorations properly (but right now the attic is just too cold for that!), sort through my husband’s estate, and finish countless unfinished projects… 24-hour days just aren’t enough for all that!
