Andrea, I thought the same thing; tears came to my eyes when I saw the car race into it.
Yesterday I was at the Christmas market here with my eldest daughter and my grandson; thank God everything stayed calm and peaceful there.
Nevertheless, I wish everyone here a lovely 4th Sunday of Advent.
I wish you all a wonderful weekend and a peaceful 4th Sunday of Advent.
Unfortunately, things aren’t quite so relaxed here—my husband is in the hospital, and he’s not doing well at all. And I really don’t even want to think about Magdeburg right now—what a scary time.
Good morning,
Veronika, I’m giving you all a really big hug too and sending lots of strength.
Work has kept me so busy that I’ll have to catch up on the news today. Early yesterday, I just briefly read about what happened in Magdeburg. It’s just terrible.
First, I need to wind down and realize that I don’t have to show up for the fireworks sale until after Christmas. Tomorrow morning, I’m heading back to the pool to relax my aching muscles and joints, and on Christmas Eve we’re having a candlelit swim at our indoor pool. I’m looking forward to seeing all the familiar faces from the past six months and wishing them happy holidays. Somehow, we early-morning swimmers have almost become like a little family.
Despite everything, I wish you all a pleasant Fourth Sunday of Advent.
Love, Kerstin
We’re actually quite relaxed, but the news has made the mood rather reflective.
Humanity hasn’t really learned its lesson; hatred and huge egos are unfortunately still far too normal.
I wish you all a few lovely, enjoyable moments over the holidays.
Veronika, I hope your husband gets well soon, and I wish everyone a peaceful 4th Sunday of Advent.
I went to a tea dance with my parents again today. It was a nice way to take my mind off things. Christmas is already the day after tomorrow—my parents are coming over for coffee, and in the evening we’ll have the Christmas roast with dumplings and red cabbage. On December 26, my youngest is coming—I’m really looking forward to that.
So there are still some joyful moments.
Thanks, everyone!
Yes, that means no Christmas celebrations here, but when I see how full the hospital ward is (and will remain so even over Christmas)—not to mention the situation in Magdeburg—it seems like a lot of people are in the same boat, so we’ll just have to grit our teeth and get through it.
