Brooches on scarves and stoles: do you like that?

Dear community,
do you like brooches on your triangular shawls, scarves and stoles, or are they not really your favorite accessory?

I don’t like brooches.  They’re too pointy and fiddly for my taste.

But there are these clasps or brooch pins. They’re a larger ring—sometimes closed, sometimes partially open—and a long, blunt pin. The wooden ones are best.

But I’ve also used medium-sized hair clips. There are some that have only three or four prongs on each side. That only works if the pattern isn’t too dense, though.

It depends on the stole or scarf. I have shawl pins in various designs, but also some very beautiful brooches. It has to suit the occasion and, above all, the outfit you’re wearing—whether it does or not.

I have to admit, I don’t like or wear brooches at all. They’re too old-fashioned for my taste. I do have a few that have been sitting in my jewelry box for decades. But to each their own.

If you have a really rustic, hand-knitted stole and want to make sure it stays securely closed in the front, I’d most likely use a wooden clasp with a large, blunt wooden pin. That way, it all matches in style.

I had no idea those things were called brooches—thanks to you, I’ve learned something new.

I’m not a fan of brooches either—I don’t like clasps either. I like to drape scarves and shawls loosely, so I don’t want anything hard attached to them. They just need to be long enough to stay in place on their own or to be tied into a knot.
