Help with a pattern

A pattern says:
Slip 1 stitch, slip 1 stitch and knit together
how should I understand that??

Does it perhaps become clear from the context of the pattern? Let’s say the two slipped stitches are supposed to be knit together after slipping them. That would result in one stitch being decreased each time. To compensate for that, there would need to be a yarn over or another increase.

It’s a diamond pattern. Sometimes I have to knit two stitches together, and then it says to slip two stitches knitwise and knit them together, and I don’t understand that. How can I slip two stitches knitwise and then knit them together?

If the pattern isn’t from here, it would be better if you asked the author or seller of the pattern directly.

Hi, you just need to do exactly what it says. Give it a try. It results in a decrease that slopes to the left. Alternatively, you can slip one stitch as if to knit, knit the next stitch, and then pass the slipped stitch over the knitted one (like when binding off). Good luck!
